The Federal Communications Commission on Thursday took the first step toward the eventual rollout of over-the-air terrestrial 4K television broadcasting in the U.S. The FCC published a proposed regulation that would allow TV stations to begin broadcasts using the ATSC3.0 format, a newer version of the digital transmission format used today. The National Association of Black Journalists has requested a meeting with NBC News to discuss the exit of Tamron Hall and what it called the “whitewashing” of the network’s “Today” morning show with plans to replace Hall and Al Roker as co-hosts of the 9 a.m. hour with former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.

"Well, they don’t have a choice now. He's our president," he told ChannelFI. "And, it’s very dynamic and as divisive of an Inauguration and time as we've had. At the same time, it’s time for us to embrace and shake hands with this fact. And be constructive with him over the next four years." Gwendolyn Gillen, a Wisconsin artist whose bronze sculpture of Mary Tyler Moore tossing her hat became a downtown Minneapolis landmark, has died. She was 76. Gillen's daughter, Alessandra Gillen, says her mother died Friday in hospice care at Madison Heights Senior Community in Madison, where she had lived since 2013. Gwendolyn Gillen died two days after Moore died at the age of 80.
