President Barack Obama's daily routine often starts with a tune and ends with a tuck, first lady Michelle Obama told People magazine. "We have a ritual where he tucks me in, because I'm usually in bed before anybody, it was reported she told the magazine for an upcoming issue. "He'll come and turn the lights out and give me a kiss and we'll talk. He's like, "Ready to be tucked?" I'm like, "Yes I am."' <p>Republican gubernatorial candidate Haley Barbour pumped more than $2 million into his coffer this year, compared with the $837,696 raised by Democratic Gov. Ronnie Musgrove, according to campaign finance reports filed Friday.</p> <p>Musgrove, who is seeking a second term, was outpaced by Barbour in total funds, with Barbour raising $2.4 million to Musgrove's $2.3 million.</p>

Baker makes switch State Rep. Larry Baker of Senatobia, who was elected to the House as a Democrat in 1999, has qualified to run for a second term as a Republican. "I have been a conservative all my life and have pretty well gone with the Republican Party on most votes," said Baker, 63, a retired officer with the Mississippi Army National Guard and a cattleman. Former Newton Mayor First Elected To Senate In 1991 NEWTON, Miss. -- Veteran state Sen. Terry Burton, of Newton, is now a Republican. Burton said Monday that he reached his decision independent of Lt. Gov. Amy Tuck's much publicized switch. Burton was elected to the Senate three times as a Democrat.
