SEE: Ted Cruz readies for next round of tea party-fueled fight Gromer Jeffers Jr. 03 February 2014 10:36 PM Now, Cruz said, he wants to engage voters on other issues as well. He said he hoped Congress would use this year to overhaul tax and regulatory policy. And later he expressed his support for ideas like a flat federal income tax rate for everyone, saying people should mail back their tax returns on a postcard. “We need to get back to the policies that work, like fundamental tax reform,” he said. This is very disturbing. What we really need to...

OK my friends: In case you forgot: It was the Prez who returned the bust of Churchill to London. We ALL know it was petty. Am I right? Just remember that 2 can play this game. It all depends on which of us is in the W.H. I don't think we should bring it back. Some GOP debater tried to make points on that issue-didn't work. Just put a bust of Americas greatest General in the same spot. Just watch the Great Ones friends react. Tit for tat. Thoughts?

Wal-Mart’s wages are so low that many of its workers must rely on food stamps and other government aid programs, costing taxpayers as much as $900,0000 at just one Wal-Mart Supercenter in Wisconsin.

So how did the report’s authors come up with the $900,000 figure? First, they took into account the number of Wal-Mart stores and employees across Wisconsin and the per-person costs of Badgercare, the state’s health care program, estimating that the cost of the publicly funded health care comes to $251,706 per year for a Supercenter that employees 300 workers.

Comment is free I worked on the US drone program. Do you ever find yourself arguing with liberals on the internet? Are you tired of people telling you about how awesome free healthcare is for the economy? Or how you should just shut up and pay your fair share because crack whores need iPhones too? Or how we should ban the super ultra-deadly assault rifle AR-15 shotgun Glock? Or been asked why do you hate old people, you cismale gendernormative fascist, hatey-McHaterton-hatey-hate-hatemongering racist? Have you grown frustrated because arguing with the willfully ignorant is like repeatedly punching a really dumb cactus? Well, I’ve prepared a handy checklist so you can...

Anyone who opposes the Affordable Care Act is a subhuman. It is a great law but lying republicans are trying to destroy it. I signed up with no problem on the website. Republicans want to repeal my new insurance. Obama is a hero!

I would like to thank all who have welcomed me within the past almost 3 wks; esp ., "the old lady". I also vividly recall also "null and void" & lazmataz. It's been nice having a posting priviledge here as a guest but I don't think FR is for me. I'm a Constitutional Conservative and as many conservative opinions are voiced here I'm not seeing what I'm personally looking for in commentary. It's sort of like dating isn't it? After a few dates, a few comments,a few opinions, one begins to draw conclusions. Free Republic just isn't for me. I...

I keep hearing this Democrat talking point being trotted out, accusing the Republicans of harming their constituents by not doing everything in their power to "fix" the Affordable Health Care Act. This one must test well in focus-groups because it keeps getting repeated. I've yet to hear one Republican answer this coherently. Here's my suggestion for a response: "If I saw a friend's house being looted would I do everything in my power to stop the looting, or would I walk over and try to negotiate with the looters? Would I call the police and try to get some neighbors...

Whenever I write about homophobia in Russia, several readers invariably leave comments defending the country's approach to gay rights... Elsewhere, like when my articles about opposition figures are translated and posted on Russian news sites, the comments get downright personal and anti-Semitic... It's of course impossible to tell whose vitriol is genuine and whose is being bankrolled, but at least some anti-Western comments appear to come from staffers the Russian government pays to sit in a room, surf the Internet, and leave sometimes hundreds of postings a day that criticize the country's opposition and promote Kremlin-backed policymakers....

Norwegians cast ballots Monday in a parliamentary election that could see the power in the oil-rich nation shift for the first time since 2005 to a center-right coalition, including an anti-immigration party. Despite Norway’s strong economy and low unemployment, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg’s center-left coalition has been trailing in opinion polls for months. The Conservative Party, headed by Erna Solberg, has seen a surge in support amid pledges to increase the availability of private health care and cut taxes on assets over $140,000. … The conservatives have said, for the first time, that they are prepared to form a coalition...

Given how that Obama is 50% United States and 50% Kenyan, ask yourself this question: would you like to live with just 50% of your body parts? Children are expected to do more than 50% of their schoolwork and the Electoral College is supposed to be won by at least more than 50% of Electoral College votes and George Washington was unaminously elected by the Electoral College. Seems like Obama is a threat to United States Security, remember his friend Rev. Jeremiah Wright? I say that the Supreme Court should nullify Obama's Presidential status.

It is time for Christians, and those of other faiths who value this nation’s unique character, to leave the Republican Party and start their very own political organization. For decades, the Christian alliance with the GOP has failed to roll back or even mildly halt the relentless advance of liberalism. We have lost the culture, lost the traditional underpinnings of the nation and no longer have a national character we can take pride in. The Republican Party is useless for all those who are serious about upholding traditional Judeo-Christian morality.

“The issue is ‘are you going to have a civil war that’s going to hurt the Republican Party.’ The issue is ‘What’s right for America?’…I want a 1980 a 1984 those were the administrations I served under where I saw a conservative Republican president who knew what he was doing, who took on the establishment. And the Republican Party after he left lurched back to its neo-statist roots…. So what the hell are the Republicans going to run on? We didn’t defund Obamacare. Reelect us. We supported the Dream Act and Amnesty. Reelect us. We’re not going to stop profligate...

Kaitlyn Hunt, 18, had her entire life before her. Graduation. College. Job prospects. The high school senior was just preparing to start her life when she found herself expelled and slapped with criminal charges over her engagement in a same-sex relationship. And what started as a relationship between two young women has snowballed into a legal battle that could land Hunt in prison. The story has many twists, turns and oddities. And so far, only one side — that of Hunt family — is being told. The high school senior apparently met her girlfriend, who is now 15-years-old, on the...
