There’s outrage in Norfolk, Va., today after a white couple was attacked by a group of 100 black teenagers, and the local newspaper did not report on the incident for two weeks, despite the victims being employees of the paper. Even today, the Virginian-Pilot did not cover the crime as news, but rather as an opinion piece by columnist Michelle Washington. “Wave after wave of young men surged forward to take turns punching and kicking their victim,” Washington wrote, describing the onslaught that began when Dave Forster and Marjon Rostami stopped at a red light while driving home from a...

We're learning today that in Obama's Chicago, 18 year-old Alton L. Hayes has just been charged by police with "attempted robbery and aggravated battery along with a hate crime" for attacking and robbing a 19 year-old man. Hayes is black, the victim is white, and Hayes told investigators "he was angry about the [Trayvon] Martin shooting and decided to attack the victim because of his race." Now why would Hayes do this? For starters, Zimmerman is Hispanic, not Caucasian. Secondly, there's absolutely zero proof Zimmerman was racially motivated to shoot Martin. In fact, an overwhelming amount of evidence suggests race...

(MOBILE, Ala.) - It started with a game of basketball. Kids in the Delmar Drive neighborhood play almost every night, and Saturday their ball found its way into a yard down the street where Matthew Owens was staying. Neighbors say Owens confronted the kids as they chased their ball. "We said we're sorry," says David Dinkins, one of the kids playing. "He said 'get the F out of the yard!'" Dinkins says that's when Owens started spewing racial slurs and pulled out two knives. "It was like kitchen knives," Dinkins says. "They were long."

Police continue to downplay the Trayvon Martin connection to the beating. But a neighbor confirms what his sister told News 5. The neighbor, too scared to go on camera, told News 5's Lauren Vargas that they heard one of the suspects say "This is justice for Trayvon" as she drove away. Tonight, an angry mother who lives on the street told News 5's Blake Brown that the kids who live on Delmar Drive are the real victims. Before Lauren Vargas' live shot on News 5 at 5:00, a black woman who lives on the street started yelling at Lauren saying...

Police have yet to charge a black motorist who shot dead a mentally disabled and unarmed "white Hispanic," Daniel Adkins, in a Taco Bell parking lot near Phoenix earlier this month. The two reportedly exchanged words before the shooting that occurred, according to some accounts, after the motorist almost ran over Adkins who then banged his fist on the car's windshield. The April 3 shooting by the 22-year-old black man -- whom police in suburban Laveen have yet to identify -- has gotten little if any coverage by the national media. Nor has President Obama weighed in on the case....

According to Ashley Parker, Owen's sister, one of the attackers said “[n]ow that's justice for Trayvon.” Fox News reported Tuesday that the case is not being investigated as a hate crime, despite the alleged reference to Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old who was shot and killed in February, and the racial makeup of...

MOBILE, Alabama -- Mobile Police Chief Micheal T. Williams said this morning that investigators have not yet corroborated allegations that a Saturday mob attack on a white man by a group of black men was racially motivated. The sister of the alleged victim, Matthew Owens, told WKRG that she heard one of the attackers say, "Now, that's justice for Trayvon," as he walked away. Williams said that investigators have interviewed the sister, Ashley Parker, and the victim, and that neither mentioned attackers saying anything about "justice for Trayvon." Trayvon Martin was the unarmed teenager police say was shot and killed...

Much to the dismay of thousands of people across the United States, George Zimmerman was released on $150,000 bail. The event took place in the middle of the night, as to avoid any unnecessary confrontations with those who feel that Zimmerman should spend the rest of his life rotting behind bars. He will be tried for second degree murder in the fatal shooting of teenager Trayvon Martin later this year. Not surprisingly, this news did not settle well with many people. Now that he’s out of jail, authorities have to contend with yet another serious issue: Whether or not any...

A man charged with a hate crime in Oak Park this week told police he was so upset about the Trayvon Martin case that he beat up a man because he was white, authorities said. Alton L. Hayes III, of Oak Park, and a 15-year-old Chicagoan — both black — walked up behind the 19-year-old victim and pinned his arms to his side early Tuesday, police said. Hayes, 18, then picked up a large tree branch, pointed it at the man and said, “Empty your pockets, white boy.” They rifled through his pockets, threw him to the ground and punched...
