Dan from Squirrel Hill's Blog Black lives matter – except for the 93% of black murder victims who are killed by other blacks Trayvon Martin.Michael Brown.Eric Garner.John Crawford.Tamir Rice.Akai Gurley. All of them were unarmed, young black males who were killed by someone who was not black. All have received substantial national media coverage. There have been protests. There has been smashing of windows, looting, and burning down of businesses owned by innocent people who had nothing to do with the killings.Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have done their usual stuff. Many college students, including students from at least three law schools (Columbia, Harvard, and Georgetown),...

".......An Instagram of that “No Cops No Prisons” banner displays a number of hashtags, including #turnuptheanger, a hashtag associated with TMOC. (The first mention of #turnuptheanger on Twitter, for example, directs to a Facebook page hosted by the Trayvon Martin Organizing Committee NYC.) It’s not the only apparent link between the “dead cops” chant and TMOC. At the beginning of the video and before the call to kill police, you can hear what sounds like, “arms up, shoot back!” That slogan appears on TMOC’s Twitter account....... [SNIP] ......There are not many TMOC members willing to openly admit that they’re part...

I went down to Al Sharpton March at Freedom Plaza today, which featured the Mothers of Trayvon Martin and Eric Garner with a crowd of mostly out of towners that numbered between 8,000 to 10,000 at the height of it all. The march and rally pretty much ended with around 3pm with Sharpton making a very brief appearance and mostly White Leftwingers hijacking the march afterwards as the out of towners headed for their buses. The signage held up by these Leftists radical included environmental messages, the overthrow of the capitalist system. One sign proclaimed that, "Capitalism was the disease...

Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin, says whites do not understand the protests about the deaths of young black men. CNN's Anderson Cooper cited polls that reveal white people do not view the issue the same way as black people. "It's not happening to them, so they don't quite get it," Fulton told Cooper in an interview that aired Friday on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360." "They don't quite understand. They think that it's a small group of African-Americans that's complaining: 'Oh, what are they complaining about now?'" Cooper asked: "You hear that from people?" "Oh yeah," Fulton said. "The...

Doubling down on comments he made Wednesday night, Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera appeared on Fox & Friends Friday morning to discuss Cleveland Cavs star LeBron James and the statement he made recently wearing an “I Can’t Breathe” t-shirt prior to a game with the Brooklyn Nets. While LeBron is far from the only NBA player who has worn the shirt to show his dissatisfaction with the grand jury’s decision not to indict NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo in the death of Eric Garner, he is definitely the most high-profile athlete who has done so. Therefore, pundits and commentators have focused on...

Dr. Savage poured over the new $1.2 trillion spending bill, noting the colossal waste and bipartisan "pork barrel" provisions it contains. "Who is going to pay for this?" he asks. "We've just experienced a Republican betrayal of the highest magnitude," Savage announced. In the latest $1.2 trillion dollar spending bill, Obamacare is fully funded. So is amnesty. Boehner is out there, pretending he's concerned. Meanwhile, they gave a billion dollars for the amnesty bill to help illegal aliens. The budget is packed with what we used to call "pork barrel" spending. Now they're called "riders," but it's the same thing:...

Michael Savage: Rush Limbaugh is a “water-carrying, fat fraud?? Savage took a brief respite from discussing deli meats and meatball recipes Wednesday to address the important issues of the day… Democrat bad! Republican good! All Rush Limbaugh does day in and day out. … Water-carriers! Frauds!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aO4xNU5LdXo

Tonight, I was listening in to the Michael Savage show while I drove home from buying new sneakers. First, he had on a nutritionist to speak out in favor of fish oils and debunk the new study that's come out against them. Then he launched into his now-familiar anti-Zim diatribes. He had on a few callers who said, "I agree with you", which pleased him greatly. He reiterated that Zimmerman caused the whole problem by (1) being a policeman wannabe, (2) having a loaded gun with the safety off [thanks to Freepers here, I learned that sort of gun has...

So the prosecution has rested in the Zimmerman case. I have long said words to the effect that unless the prosecution produces some surprising evidence I had not heard of before, that Zimmerman should be acquitted. Well, the time for that evidence to be presented has passed, and it hasnÂ’t manifested itself. So my original provisional conclusion is now my near-final conclusion. At this point, it would take nothing less than a confession by Zimmerman to get us to proof of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, or something equally spectacularly surprising. And I donÂ’t think that is very likely. But...

This is a strange analysis from someone who is usually pretty conservative. He is claiming some things that the prosecution isn’t even presenting. Even if what Savage is saying is true, I’m not sure how that changes what happened. Check it out: On his show on, talk show host Michael Savage said that George Zimmerman, who is currently on trial for the murder of Trayvon Martin, should be found guilty of second-degree manslaughter based on two things: 1) The state of his firearm and 2) The language he allegedly used on a 911 call when he was first reporting his...

On his show on Tuesday night, talk show host Michael Savage said that George Zimmerman, who is currently on trial for the murder of Trayvon Martin, should be found guilty of second-degree manslaughter based on two things: 1) The state of his firearm and 2) The language he allegedly used on a 911 call when he was first reporting his suspicions about Martin. But first Savage explained why his insight should be valued over others in the media covering the trial. “I’m about to break an analysis that no one yet in the media has done, as you would expect...

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: I mean, look, you know, I've gotten a lot of heat from people because I say -- I want as much as you can give me to nail the SOB. That's what I want. But I don't like that people can just say anything and it's taken as fact. We owe it to ourselves, to our sisters, to our brothers who are the folks who may be accused to get the facts. Get the facts. Get as much as you can. There's nothing wrong with it. Because if you can get the person off the street who has...

On Thursday "Inside the NBA" on TNT, panelists Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith discussed the issues of Garner, race and Ferguson in light of Barkley's recent remarks on police and accusations of police brutality motivated by race.

“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and tomorrow speak what tomorrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradicts every thing you said today.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson And so I will. Not so long ago, right-wing bloggers blasted me for being a liberal sellout for my fierce defense of Trayvon Martin. During George Zimmerman’s trial, my email inbox...

The Gospel Explosion Concert in Miami Gardens today held a vigil for Michael Brown that was attended by not just the parents of the slain Ferguson teen, but the parents of Trayvon Martin, whose son’s death also stirred a national conversation about race and the police. The rapper Flo Rida hosted the annual event, which featured appearances by a number of famous artists.....

You'd think Joe Scarborough would have learned by now to avoid inflammatory statements about the Trayvon Martin case. Back when that case first broke, Scarborough immediately branded George Zimmerman a "murderer." But there was Scarborough at it again this morning. On today's Morning Joe, he sought to contrast the Michael Brown case with that of Trayvon Martin. In Ferguson, "we don't know the evidence," said Joe. Whereas in the Trayvon Martin case, Scarborough said "you had a guy chase a guy around a neighborhood and shoot him because he was black." View the video here.

ORLANDO, Fla. - A federal grand jury is expected to hear testimony Wednesday surrounding the George Zimmerman case. The hearing is related to whether Zimmerman violated Trayvon Martin's civil rights when he shot and killed the unarmed teen in Sanford in 2012. At least one witness has been subpoenaed to testify. That man is believed to be Zimmerman's former neighbor, Frank Taaffe....

Ben Shapiro exposes the truth behind the media-created myth of Gentle Giant Michael Brown, the unarmed teen gunned down in cold blood by a white racist cop for the crime of walking while black. Except that every part of that story is a lie. TRANSCRIPT: Everything you know about Michael Brown is a lie. The media, the politicians, the race-baiters - they all told you the story of the innocent young, unarmed black teen, the Gentle Giant, murdered in cold blood by a vicious white cop representing the evil establishment. Al Sharpton, who is always first on the scene when...

The fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford ignited a nationwide debate on gun rights, profiling and Florida's controversial self-defense laws. That debate continues today, when a panel of experts convenes in Orlando to discuss the "stand your ground" law as part of an investigation the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights launched after the teen's death became a cause célèbre. Florida was the first state to adopt "stand your ground," and the killing of Trayvon shone a harsh light on it. Though Zimmerman's lawyers disputed that the controversial law played a role in his acquittal at trial last year,...

Editor's note: This column originally appeared in the October issue of Townhall Magazine.Over the past few months we’ve heard an awful lot about the police shooting of “unarmed” teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Before his death, Brown was caught on video in a strong-arm robbery of a convenience store. The video shows Brown was “unarmed” and used his personal strength to push away and assault a store clerk who tried to stop him from stealing a $50 pack of cigars. When Officer Darren Wilson stopped Brown and a friend in the middle of the road, an altercation allegedly occurred....
