Today, the Secretary of the Air Force, Deborah Lee James, came out in support of lifting the military’s ban on transgender service. In an interview with USA Today, when asked about the current ban, she said, “From my point of view, anyone who is capable of accomplishing the job should be able to serve.” She also said the current ban “is likely to come under review in the next year or so.” The repeal of the discriminatory “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) policy allowed lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals to serve in the military openly and honestly. However, while the...

The New York City Council Monday approved a measure that eliminates the surgery requirement for transgender people seeking to change the sex designation on their birth certificates. The ordinance was proposed in October by City Council Member Corey Johnson, a Democrat. The policy will require a licensed health care provider to state under oath that "based on contemporary expert standards," according to the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF) press release, "an individual’s true sex is not accurately recorded on their current birth certificate." Mayor Bill de Blasio is expected to sign the measure into law, and the Board...

Athletes in Minnesota’s public schools who say they identify as the sex opposite their biological sex have won the right to shower with athletes of the opposite sex, as well as share locker rooms and hotel rooms. On Thursday, the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) approved criteria that will create eligibility standards for schools to let transgendered students on single-sex sports teams. Students would be allowed to be on a team of the opposite gender if parents or guardians, as well as a health care professional, sign written statements affirming a student's “consistent or sincerely held gender-related identity.” A...

Richmond, VA — Under the grossly erroneous assumption that abortion facilities – including those operated by the disgraced and incompetent abortionist Steven Chase Brigham — need little to no regulatory oversight, the Virginia Department of Health will be holding a hearing at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014, for the purpose of gutting the current Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities passed by the State Legislature in 2012. “The move by the pro-abortion administration of Gov. Terry McAuliffe to repeal regulations that set common-sense safety standards for abortion facilities will only ensure that women are subjected to substandard conditions...

The U.S. Army has agreed to “fully recognize” the new legal names of two transgender military veterans, the American Civil Liberties Union said Tuesday. The group’s New Jersey chapter announced that the Army Board for Correction of Military Records recently notified the two veterans about its decision. The board initially recommended that the request be rejected, but the Army Review Boards’ deputy assistant secretary overrode the decision. …

Minnesotans are currently facing a fast and furious onslaught by the transgender lobby, which seems to be dictating policy to the Minnesota State High School League. The MSHSL decides policy for all extracurricular activities in public, private, religious, and home schools. It’s currently in the process of outlawing all sex distinctions in high-school sports. On December 4, it plans to install an athletic policy granting transgender students the choice to play on either boys’ or girls’ teams. In this scheme, there would be no accounting for sex differences in high school sports on the field or in locker rooms, bathrooms,...

Retired military personnel are calling on the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines to change their lists of disqualifying conditions to allow transgender people to serve openly. Though the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy was repealed, allowing openly gay people to serve in the military, there is still a ban on transgender service members. In May, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said that the ban should be “continually reviewed.” A report released by the Palm Center on Tuesday, however, said the Department of Defense deleted its list of medically disqualifying and administratively disqualifying conditions in August. Now only conditions that...

Michael F. Haverluck, writing for OneNewsNow, notes that, "Women and men in the city of Cleveland will soon be charged with $1,000 criminal fines for voicing a problem or discomfort about a person of the opposite sex using their restrooms. This also goes for businesses that express customers’ uneasiness over a person of the opposite sex visiting the inappropriate (or non-traditional) restroom. Cleveland schools must abide by the ordinance. Cleveland’s recently proposed and reviewed “transgender-inclusion bathroom and locker room ordinance” is not the first of its kind, as Houston and numerous other cities have also visited or enforced measures that...

Beatie is accused of putting a GPS tracking device on his wife’s car in October of 2012, about six months after he served his wife with an order of protection that required her to leave the couple’s home.

Transgender people who regret their sex changes typically get buried in venom rather than loved. Everyone has regrets. Some of us have big regrets. Most everyone has some place to go to get help dealing with them. Except for, say, a guy who had sex-change surgery and now would like to have his penis back. (The one God gave him.) Our culture seems pretty much “to each his own” when it comes to elective bodily mutilation and the regret thereof. And there’s a lot of regret out there. According to a British poll, a whopping 65 percent of those who’ve...

New York City lawmakers are weighing making it easier for transgender people to change the sex on their birth certificates. […] The City Council’s Health Committee […] would eliminate a requirement for people to have gender-reassignment surgery in order to change the documents. Instead, a health professional would be able to affirm that the change would more accurately reflect the person’s gender. …

Although much has been reported regarding the ethics and legality behind the city of Houston's subpoena of five Houston-area pastors that had asked them to turn over all of their sermons that address homosexuality, gender identity, and the city's first openly-lesbian mayor, little attention has been given to who those five pastors actually are and the ministries they operate.Although those five pastors, Steve Riggle, David Welch, Hernan Castaño, Khanh Huynh and Magda Hermida, were not technically parties of the lawsuit against the city's new equal rights ordinance that sparked the need for the subpoenas, they all participated in the coalition...

Police say Laude was found with her head resting on the motel room’s toilet bowl, apparently after being drowned, according to news reports. According to reports, police suspect Pemberton may have been angered when he discovered in the motel room that Laude was transgender.

A student who was born female felt perfectly comfortable identifying as a man at Wellesley College — until people said he shouldn’t be class diversity officer because he is now a white male. Timothy Boatwright was born a girl, and checked off the “female” box when applying to the Massachusetts all-women’s school, according to an article in the New York Times. But when he got there, he introduced himself as a “masculine-of-center genderqueer” person named “Timothy” (the name he picked for himself) and asked them to use male pronouns when referring to him. And, by all accounts, Boatwright felt welcome...

Hundreds of young women streamed into Wellesley College on the last Monday of August, many of them trailed by parents lugging suitcases and bins filled with folded towels, decorative pillows and Costco-size jugs of laundry detergent. The banner by the campus entranceway welcoming the Class of 2018 waved in the breeze, as if beckoning the newcomers to discover all that awaited them. All around the campus stood buildings named after women: the Margaret Clapp library, the Betsy Wood Knapp media and technology center, dorms, labs, academic halls, even the parking garage. The message that anything is possible for women was...

Katherine Timpf is young, beautiful and very sane. Oh, have I said something wrong? Good. Writing for National Review, Timpf covers the complete flight from reality that characterizes today's progressivism/feminism. A quick glance at her recent titles gives the flavor of the world they seek to create and impose. "Feminists: Remove World War II Sailor Statue Because It's 'Sexual Assault'" (that would be the iconic image from Times Square on VJ Day in 1945). "Feds Spending Money To Find Out Why Obese Girls Get Fewer Dates." "Feminists: Slow Motion Is Sexist." And today's installment: "Schools Told to Call Kids 'Purple...

It had been a relatively quiet policy debate until the full-page ad appeared in Sunday’s local newspaper. “A male wants to shower beside your 14-year-old daughter,” it said. “Are you OK with that?” The ad, placed by a socially conservative group in Minnesota, was meant to snap attention to a proposal to allow transgender students to play on teams based on their preferred gender rather than the sex assigned to them at birth.
