A nonpartisan audit of the results of the 2020 presidential race in Wisconsin found that the state’s voting machines correctly tabulated the votes cast in the crucial swing state, marking another dismissal of claims by former President Trump and his allies of widespread irregularities. The report released by the Legislative Audit Bureau did not find any important errors made by the machines. And while a slate of recommendations were made by the elections panel, lawmakers involved in the process said the review underscored the security of the November race.

(Headline USA) Wisconsin‘s Democrat Gov. Tony Evers was directly responsible for many of the efforts to revise election rules, permitting looser restrictions on mail-in ballots, outdated voter rolls and late deadline. But after evidence has emerged increasing the likelihood of a forensic audit led by the state’s GOP legislature, Evers is now complaining about the price tag. Evers claimed Monday that it was “outrageous” that Republicans planned to spend $680,000 on an investigation into the 2020 election in Wisconsin, accusing Assembly Speaker Robin Vos of “drinking the Kool-Aid” after meeting with former President Donald Trump. A Republican-controlled Assembly committee gave...

Wisconsin’s Democratic Gov. Tony Evers vetoed a series of six election security bills Tuesday sent to his desk by the state’s GOP-controlled legislature. Republicans do not have the votes to override Evers’ veto, as no Democrats supported the legislation in June. The governor also said that two Wisconsin counties should not comply with subpoenas to turn over ballots and voting equipment as part of an investigation being led by the Republican head of the Assembly elections committee. ‘Hell no,’ Evers said when asked if the local election clerks should comply. ‘You´ve seen what´s going on in Arizona. It´s a clown...

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) is facing an uphill battle for reelection, according to a poll released Monday. The survey, conducted July 6-8 by Cygnal, found 52 percent of likely voters think it’s “time for someone new,” while 45 percent said the first-term governor deserves another term. Evers defeated former Gov. Scott Walker (R) in 2018 by 1.1 percentage points. Respondents hold a net-unfavorable view (-4) of Evers’ job performance, according to the poll of 640 likely general election voters. Those surveyed believe the state is on the wrong track more so than the country: 60 percent said Wisconsin is...

Despite repeated attempts by Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers to expand Medicaid in the Badger State, state lawmakers have defeated the bad idea, once again. Medicaid expansion is nothing more than a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Yes, it is enticing to offer more government goodies with so called “free federal money.” But, the reality is that Medicaid expansion is only a temporary “solution” to a much bigger problem. Moreover, when states take the bait to boost their budgets temporarily, taxpayers are left on the hook over the long-term. Like many states, Wisconsin Democrats have been pushing for Medicaid expansion for years....

Pastors who bully parishioners over masks appear to have forgotten the soul-saving mission of the church, and are instead tyrannizing those they should serve.Despite Texas Gov. Greg Abbot’s repeal of the state mask mandate, a pregnant Catholic mother was kicked out of Mass in the Diocese of Dallas for failing to wear a mask.Father Milton Ryan, pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, is alleged to have called the police while the service was underway and have the young mother threatened with arrest for trespass. GREENVILLE (NBC26) — A recent report gave Wisconsin a D+ grade when it came to quality of roads, but some are hopeful the governor's roads budget will continue the path to fixing what officials call "decades of neglect" to the state's transportation system. Gov. Tony Evers and Craig Thompson, Department of Transportation secretary-designee, stopped along County Road CB in Greenville Wednesday on "pothole patrol" to discuss the governor's "Badger Bounceback Budget Investments" for local roads and highways. "We have an important budget in from of us right now and the money that the state of Wisconsin is looking to share...

Tony Evers on March 31 asked a federal court to force lawyer Sidney Powell and her client to pay more than $106,000 in legal fees over a lawsuit regarding the state’s presidential election results, and he’s seeking $144,000 from former President Donald Trump and his lawyers, according to court filings.

Wisconsin's Supreme Court is striking down Gov. Tony Evers' statewide face mask mandate. The 4-3 ruling was issued in a 78-page decision Wednesday morning. Republican lawmakers filed suit in October on the mandate. They said the governor did not have the authority to extend the state's public health emergency beyond 60 days without approval from the legislature. The majority of justices agreed.

MADISON — Unemployed Wisconsinites have complained about the state Department of Workforce Development’s lack of humanity during the state’s unemployment crisis. Audits have shown just how dysfunctional and disconnected Gov. Tony Evers’ DWD has been. Despite administration claims that things are improving, a DWD employee says the disconnect continues thanks in large part to Evers’ state government lockdown. The agency continues to require staff to work remotely “unless otherwise authorized and necessary” to meet “Mission Essential Functions.” The DWD employee, who works at a Job Center, says a year after the pandemic struck and Evers shut down state buildings to...

We are each of us ultimately responsible only for ourselves and our own actions, yet the degree to which we may be held accountable for the misdeeds of others apparently varies by political party affiliation. On Wednesday, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel published on its website what can only be described as a hit piece on Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson in which reporters Molly Beck and Patrick Marley highlighted the fact that Johnson is “taking fire from a liberal group for accepting more than $13,000 from a Washington state business owner who refused to hire Muslims and replied to emailed jokes...

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers on Thursday slapped down the state's Republican-controlled legislature repeal of his statewide mask mandate by issuing a new order. "Every step of the way, our statewide strategies to contain this virus and prevent the spread have been met with lawsuits, political rhetoric and obstruction," Evers said in a video posted to Twitter. "Unfortunately, that happened again today, when Republicans in the legislature came in to vote down our state's public health emergency and end requiring face coverings in public places." "That's why today we will be issuing a new public health emergency order requiring face coverings...

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Assembly members will vote Thursday whether to overturn Gov. Tony Evers’ mask mandate order. If Assembly members vote to repeal the order, Wisconsin will become one of only 10 states without statewide mask mandates. However, masks will still be required in some of its largest cities thanks to local ordinances. State law gives the Legislature the power to overturn emergency orders issued by the governor, a move that does not require the governor’s approval to take effect. The state Senate voted 18-13, with all Democrats and two Republicans against, to overturn the order on Tuesday....

MADISON — Last month, Gov. Tony Evers’ new secretary-designee of the dysfunctional state Department of Workforce Development claimed victory over a massive backlog of Unemployment Insurance claims. It was a premature “mission accomplished” moment.Just ask Ronald Letzia. The 70-year-old West Allis man has been waiting more than eight months for DWD to get its act together and pay the thousands of dollars in back unemployment benefits he’s owed.Like thousands of other Wisconsin workers displaced because of the pandemic and government lockdowns, Letzia has been stuck in a bureaucratic nightmare. And while the Evers administration blames “antiquated” technology for the disaster, Letzia’s...

MADISON — Tax and spend Tony does it again — this time looking to tax the small businesses his administration has driven to the brink of extinction with lockdowns and other COVID-19 health edicts. Gov. Tony Evers’ Department of Revenue last week quietly issued guidance that ignores federal COVID-19 relief legislation language on tax liability and aims to tax tens of thousands of Wisconsin businesses that received funding through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). “Gov. Tony Evers and the DOR are looking to skim the federal money that came down to our small businesses so they can grow the coffers...

Gov. Tony Evers urged Wisconsin voters to come to the polls on Election Day, discouraging them from mailing in their ballots with just four days remaining in the presidential campaign. "We need everyone to make their vote count," Evers said at a press conference on Friday. He reminded voters that they can also return their absentee ballots at a county clerk's office or at an early voting location.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Gov. Tony Evers asked everyone in Wisconsin on Tuesday to not make unnecessary trips and to reduce the number of people they're interacting with because of the continued spread of COVID-19 in the state. "Limit your social interactions to a circle of five," he said Tuesday. "That means five total, not five at a time." Department of Health Services Secretary-designee Andrea Palm said though the state is continuing to break records, she expects this is not the high-water mark. "This is going to get worse before it gets better, which is why we all need to take...

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — An effort to recall Wisconsin Democratic Gov. Tony Evers has failed, the recall’s organizer told supporters on Monday. Misty Polewczynski, of Burlington, posted on the “Recall Evers Petition” Facebook page on Monday that not enough signatures were collected. She did not say how close the group came to collecting the nearly 670,000 needed signatures and she did not immediately return a message seeking comment. “It is with a heavy heart we announce that after proofing and what came in over the weekend, we have fallen short,” she posted to the group that has 80,000 followers. “We...
