Joaquin Phoenix has now won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama thanks to his critically acclaimed performance in Todd Phillips’ revisionist comic book movie “Joker.” Believe it or not, the Golden Globe victory is Phoenix’s first major Best Actor win of the 2019-20 awards season outside of smaller critics’ groups. The majority of precursor Best Actor prizes this season have been awarded to Adam Driver of “Marriage Story” or Adam Sandler of “Uncut Gems.” Phoenix was nominated for the Golden Globe awards opposite Driver in “Marriage Story,” Christian Bale in “Ford v. Ferrari,” Jonathan Pryce...

After host Ricky Gervais admonished the Golden Globes winners Sunday night not to bring up politics in their acceptance speeches because they "know nothing about the real world," actress Michelle Williams did just that with a two minute long screed supporting abortion while accepting the award for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for TV. Williams, who, ironically, is pregnant, started out talking about choices in acting before transitioning to bodily choice, then seemingly admitted to her own abortion when she said she "wouldn't have been able to do this without employing a woman's right to...

Felicity Huffman, Cats, Joe Pesci, the Catholic Church, Judi Dench and James Corden got the Ricky Gervais treatment during the opening monologue of tonight’s Golden Globe Awards, but none took the brunt of the host’s jibes quite as sharply as Hollywood itself. Casting the industry town as hypocritically woke – with a Jeffrey Epstein joke thrown in for good measure – the notoriously scathing British comic advised Golden Globe winners to skip the moralizing. Said Gervais, “Thank your agent and your God and…” The rest was bleeped, but he seemed to say something along the lines of “then get the...

The Times has claimed in an analysis that despite a boom in the sale of Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg-related merchandise indicating greater environmental awareness, much of it is either transported from China or made from environmentally unfriendly materials. The “Greta” memorabilia includes a variety of T-shirts, mugs, stickers, badges and bags which are currently available online via Amazon, eBay and Etsy. (Please see link for full article)

The news is good from the Swedish "genius" who claims to know how to save the world. She has gone home and plans to take some time off from her self-imposed world tours and speeches in her role as our savior. I don't know about you, but I am sick to death of Greta Thunberg. If I ever hear or see her again, it will be too soon. This young girl has gotten all too much publicity, all too much adulation and all too much support for her "beliefs" about climate change – if, indeed, they really are her beliefs.

Tron’s controversial CEO and chief marketeer Justin Sun has pledged $1 million to climate activist Greta Thunberg. In a tweet to Thunberg posted yesterday, Sun said: “As a young entrepreneur, I share Greta Thunberg’s passion to change the world. Crypto will contribute immensely on reducing carbon footprint by implementing decentralised settlement. I would like to personally commit USD$1 mil to Greta Thunberg’s initiative.” Thunberg, 16, began making headlines in August 2018 after organising a school strike outside the Swedish parliament to protest about the lack of progress being made on preventing climate change. Despite her age, she is quickly becoming...

On November 12, young Greta Thunberg set sail from America to Europe. But not in the same way she arrived, and you’ll hear few people mention that. Back in August, much was made of her trip to America. She “doesn’t fly because of the outsize greenhouse gas emissions from aviation,” the New York Times reports. So, she sailed to America on a very environmentally-friendly racing yacht instead. It was reported that the cost of that entire voyage from England to America that she began back in August “has not been calculated.” That’s not true, of course. Somebody has certainly calculated...

It’s just a bunch of hot air. A German railway company has taken back an apology they made to Greta Thunberg after they realized the climate activist wasn’t schlepping it on the train’s floor but instead was treated “friendly” in first class. The rail company was responding to an image Thunberg tweeted of herself sitting amid bags and suitcases on the floor of what she called “overcrowded trains through Germany.” The company, Deutsche Bahn, initially released a statement that said they “continue working hard on getting more trains, connections and seats.” They also thanked Thunberg for supporting the company’s battle...

Greta Thunberg apologized Saturday after saying that politicians should be put "against the wall” after some critics alleged that the teen climate activist was advocating for violence against officials. “Yesterday I said we must hold our leaders accountable and unfortunately said “put them against the wall”. That’s Swenglish: “att ställa någon mot väggen” (to put someone against the wall) means to hold someone accountable,” Thunberg tweeted. “That’s what happens when you improvise speeches in a second language. But of course I apologise if anyone misunderstood this. I can not enough express the fact that I - as well as the...

Earlier this week, 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg was named Time's Person of the Year, defeating four other finalists, including US President Donald Trump, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, the Hong Kong protesters, and the whistleblower in the Trump-Ukraine scandal. A group of Trump supporters has edited the TIME magazine's 'Person of the Year' cover by replacing the head of climate activist Greta Thunberg with that of the US president. The altered picture was accompanied by a list of things the group claims Trump has accomplished since taking office three years ago.

ROME - On Thursday top Vatican officials hailed Swedish teen Greta Thunberg, recently named TIME Magazine’s “Person of the Year” for her environmental advocacy, as a “great witness” of Church teaching on care for creation and the human person. Speaking to reporters at the Dec. 12 publication of Pope Francis’s message for the 2020 World Day of Peace, celebrated on Jan. 1 each year, Cardinal Peter Turkson, prefect of the Vatican office for Integral Human Development, called Thunberg “a great witness to what the Church teaches on the care of the environment and the care of the person.” “What is...

There is never any reason for an adult to attack a 16-year-old girl, especially one who has achieved great success and done good. @GretaThunberg https://t.co/FNJ5WzFEyq https://t.co/2QXhGVaRz2— John Kasich (@JohnKasich) December 12, 2019

Melania Trump is going on the road to promote her “Be Best” campaign to help children. The first lady planned to advocate for her campaign Tuesday in Tennessee during a visit to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville on what will be her first domestic trip to highlight the initiative. Mrs. Trump was participating in a discussion about babies who are born dependent on drugs, tour a neonatal intensive care unit and visit with patients. She has done little personally to publicize the campaign around the country since she unveiled it at the White House in May....

Michelle Obama knows how to #BeBest. The former first lady came to the defense of climate activist Greta Thunberg’s on Twitter TWTR, +0.66% Thursday, after President Trump mocked the 16-year-old for being named Time’s Person of the Year. Trump had tweeted, “So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!” (snip) So former first lady Obama tweeted a message of support to Thunberg on Thursday night, writing: “Don’t let anyone dim your light. Like the girls I’ve met in Vietnam and all over the world,...

**SNIP** Also on TIME's list for Person of the Year 2019 is President Trump, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and the intelligence community whistleblower whose report sparked impeachment proceedings into Trump. TIME is slated to reveal the winner of the annual award on Wednesday morning.

Greta Thunberg unloaded on the world in an op-ed published on Friday, claiming that fossil fuels “are literally” killing mankind, and that they are a threat to “our very existence” as she said that her “climate crisis” agenda is not just about the environment, but about fighting the “colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression.” In an op-ed published in Project Syndicate, Thunberg and two other far-left climate activists attacked world leaders over their pro-capitalist policies, writing that “the politicians let the profiteers continue to exploit our planet’s resources and destroy its ecosystems in a quest for quick cash that...

Greta Thunberg the teenage Climate Puppet has gone full Marxist. In her latest public statement, she says that the ‘climate crisis is not just about the environment’: It is a crisis of human rights, of justice, and of political will. Colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fueled it. We need to dismantle them all.
