Opposition research being sent around about President Trump’s second nominee to the Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh, accuses him of calling Hillary Clinton a bitch 21 years ago–in a private setting among friends where he was allegedly seen to mouth the b-word but not actually say it. The fate of Kavanaugh’s nomination to the high court apparently depends on whether this is seen as a resume enhancer or a nomination killer. The Washington Post’s Robert Costa tweeted several days ago about a snippet from a book by former conservative journalist turned Democratic Party activist David Brock about a gathering he attended...

President Obama received information on Russia’s criminal plot to corner the market on uranium in his daily briefings. Yet the Obama administration approved the sale of one-fifth of American uranium to the Russians anyway! Toensing’s client is an American businessman who worked for years undercover as an FBI confidential witness, according to John Solomon and Alison Spann at The Hill. The man was blocked by the Obama Justice Department from telling Congress about conversations and transactions he witnessed related to the Russian nuclear industry’s efforts to win favor with Bill and Hillary Clinton and influence Obama administration decisions, his lawyer...

I've never tried to be part of the Christmas decorations. My wife has yet to put away our Costco Nativity displays. I told her yesterday that Jesus called and is ready for his foam box nap. Her Irish wit said that if He is talking to me, I should put him away. Any help out here?

Greenville, S.C. - In the latest volley in the war of insults between Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, Cruz's campaign is attacking Rubio for missing the Conservative Review Forum here tonight. Rubio was scheduled to speak, but ultimately did not attend. "This is a final admission that Marco Rubio isn't even going to try to compete for the votes of conservatives in South Carolina or anywhere else. And who can blame him? Rubio isn't conservative," said Rick Tyler, Cruz's communications director, in a statement. "Instead Rubio and his campaign would rather hide behind their deceptive campaign tactics and liberal record...

Tonight Donald Trump had a rally in Beaufort, SC, and while on stage, he repeated his campaign's earlier fabrication where they attributed a quote to Senator Tom Coburn that he never said. The fake quote was identified and debunked by Jake Tapper, it was written about at multiple sites including here, and the offending Tweets were deleted; surely an admission of guilt. Even so, some two or more hours later, Donald Trump went ahead and repeated it and pretended that it was true in his ongoing effort to dishonestly smear Ted Cruz as, get this, dishonest. This video is courtesy...

Trump's crafty move on Iraq: His war comments allow conservatives to move past the Bush years while saving face Most of Saturday night's Republican debate held by CBS in South Carolina was more of the same stuff we've seen in the previous eight debates, with Donald Trump insulting people and lots competitive right-wing posturing. But there was one moment that was unexpected, when Trump went after Jeb Bush by attacking his brother, former President George W. Bush. Trump accused the former president of lying about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and called the war "a big, fat mistake." Trump...

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Monday again hinted at a possible third-party run, saying that the Republican National Committee is "in default" of an agreement and is not treating him fairly. "When somebody's in default, that means the other side can do what they have to do," he said. "The RNC is in default." Trump signed a pledge last year to run as a Republican and not as an independent. He first raised the posibility of a third-party run in an exclusive interview with The Hill last summer. "I signed a pledge but it's a double-edge pledge, and as...

"...[Pastor Mark Burns] repeated four times: "Donald Trump is pro-faith. He is pro-faith. He is pro-faith. He is pro-faith." But an attendee called out loudly that Trump is "profane" - presumably referring to Trump's use of the word "pussy" on stage to mock opponent Sen. Ted Cruz and other such statements over the course of the campaign. Burns responded by admitting that Trump's language is profane. "Let me tell you one thing, I'm grateful you said that, that Donald Trump is profane, and that's what you're saying," he said. "Donald Trump is profane, but guess what? ... I don't know...

Trump's supporters loved his promise this week to create a "deportation force†to remove all 11 million illegal immigrants living in America, and his repeated declaration that everyone here illegally will “have to go." But his supporters tend to overlook is his other promise - repeated in a recent debate - that under his immigration plan "they will come back." That's right. Under Trump's immigration plan almost all of 11 million illegal aliens (save for a small minority with criminal records) will get to return and get permanent legal status to stay here in America. Trump supports amnesty. On the...

This has got to be the best ad of the campaign season thus far. And it's especially refreshing because Team Ted Cruz, which is responsible for the ad, focuses on Hillary Clinton rather than on his Republican opponents. First look at new @tedcruz ad in SC targeting @HillaryClinton and lampooning classic 'Office Space' scene https://t.co/Mu1YI4KJZJ- Morning Joe (@Morning_Joe) February 12, 2016Note to all of the Republican candidates: more of this please. This is exactly what conservatives want: taking Hillary to task -- instead of slamming fellow Republicans -- in way that's downright hilarious. For those who want to compare the parody...

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd were appalled by a new Ted Cruz commercial attacking Hillary Clinton, labeling it “vicious†and “rough.†The campaign spot parodied the 1999 cult classic Office Space, showing “Hillary Clinton†angrily destroying a computer hard drive. After playing a clip, a disgusted Chuck Todd condemned, “That was a little rough. That was a little uncomfortable to watch.†Todd added, “That looked vicious†and suggested the commercial crossed the line. Mitchell lectured, “First of all, Ted Cruz is not running against Hillary Clinton yet. And I just think the parody is great in politics,†but “I'm...

Four remaining Presidential Candidates Ted Cruz, Ben Carson and Marco Rubio, and Jeb Bush have pledged to push for passing the First Amendment Defense Act within their first 100 days in office, while others still in the race have not. The pledge, a joint effort of the American Principles Project, Heritage Action for America and Family Research Council Action, reads "If elected, I pledge to push for the passage of the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) and sign it into law during the first 100 days of my term as President." "Our future President, whoever he or she may be,...

As a member of several libertarian-leaning social media groups, I see a lot of staunch support for the libertarian’s libertarian, Rand Paul. Unwavering in their support, even after he dropped out of the race, many Paul supporters seem to dislike Ted Cruz intensely. I’m not sure where this comes from–given Cruz’s record of defending constitutional liberties–but in this piece, I’d like to make an argument as to why libertarians should lend their support to Ted Cruz this primary cycle.Ted Cruz stood firmly against Net Neutrality Few people understood–or understand–what net neutrality means, but Jeffrey Dorfman explains the argument against net...

When Donald Trump heard that Ted Cruz had taken out a loan from Goldman Sachs (against his own investments, by the way), he lashed out at his rival. The loan proved that Cruz was owned by the banks! He could not be trusted! He'd just do Goldman's bidding! Oh my, how terrible! Yes, Cruz was clearly a crony of the big banks. This criticism caused the Cruz campaign to study Trump's own finances a bit. What they've discovered is downright shocking: Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz on Sunday said GOP front-runner Donald Trump owes “hundreds of millions or even billionsâ€...
