(CNN) -- With many focused on the Penn State child sex abuse scandal, a South Carolina military college said Saturday it regrets not pursuing an allegation against a camp counselor further than it did. The Citadel released details on one of its alumni, Louis Neal "Skip" ReVille, who faces charges including criminal sexual conduct with a child. In 2007, the college received an allegation that five years earlier, ReVille invited two campers at The Citadel Summer Camp into his room to watch pornography. Republican Presidential candidate Fred Thompson will make his first visit to the Grand Strand on Tuesday. The former Tennessee senator will meet and greet voters at the NASCAR Cafe at 1808 21st Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. The event starts at 4:15 p.m. Prior to his visit to Myrtle Beach, Thompson is scheduled to address students, faculty and staff at the Citadel. Thompson will speak at McAlister Field House.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Lt. Gen. George Marion Seignious, a former president of The Citadel and a World War II veteran, died Sunday from surgery complications, according to The Citadel's Web site. He was 84. Seignious, a Citadel graduate, was president of the state's military college from 1974 to 1979. After graduating from the National War College in June 1961, he spent four years in Europe in several positions, including chief of the staff of the Third Armored Division in Europe. In June 1968, President Lyndon Johnson appointed him to become military adviser at the Paris Peace Talks on Vietnam....

The Citadel Board of Visitors announced that they have selected Lieut. Gen. John W. Rosa, Jr. to be the college’s 19th president subject to his release from active duty. Rosa, a member of the Class of 1973, is currently serving as the superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

In a cruise dubbed the “fantastic voyage,” Haitians will have a chance to turn their image as “boat people” upside down. With the Cruising Into History Haiti 2004 Initiative, launched by the Haiti Support Project, Haiti will finally be honored for what organizers call its triumphant accomplishment of breaking the chains of slavery.
