Boston Marathon bombing survivor Adrianne Haslet-Davis allegedly walked out of the set of Meet the Press with David Gregory. A survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing stormed off the set of NBC’s Meet the Press in tears on Friday after being asked to comment on Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev — after she was allegedly promised their names would not be mentioned. Adrianne Haslet-Davis, a dancer who lost part of one leg during the attack, tweeted after the taping: I feel so disrespected @meetthepress I asked politely yesterday and you said yes. Now you choose to use the name instead.

CAMBRIDGE — It was not a typical teen cause in the late 1970s. But when students at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School were concerned that they were not learning grammar, they knew whom to turn to: Bill de Blasio. The gangly 6-foot-5 senior huddled with administrators and teachers. Before long, students were taking a grammar class called Better Than Basics. “You went to Bill to get it done,” said Nora Burns, a fellow member of the class of 1979. These days, de Blasio is the leading candidate for mayor of New York, an outspoken liberal poised to become the city’s...

By now, you really would have thought Michael Bloomberg would have learned his lesson. The out-of-touch New York City mayor has lately made it his business to be in everyone else’s business – whether that means trying to decide for New York residents what they are allowed to eat or drink, or trying to tell people from other states what to think of their elected officials. More often than not, however, Mayor Bloomberg’s overreaches have been repelled. The courts struck down Bloomberg’s ban on large sodas. Notable Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer, from Bloomberg’s home state, is on the record as...

BOSTON (Reuters) - A grand jury on Thursday indicted two students from Kazakhstan on obstruction of justice charges, alleging they helped hide evidence related to the April Boston marathon bombing that killed three and injured 264, the U.S. Attorney's office for Massachusetts said. Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, both 19, were college friends of surviving bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. They are charged with removing a backpack containing fireworks and a laptop from Tsarnaev's dorm room after the FBI released pictures of Dzhokhar and his older brother Tamerlan in an effort to learn the names of the bombers.

Today, one name stands out: that of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the Boston Marathon bombing suspect killed during a shootout with police. The MAIG list came from Slate's interactive, "How Many People Have Been Killed By Guns Since Newtown?" The Atlantic Wire and others are asking: Should Tsarnaev’s name be on that interactive?

Dead Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev and another man — who was killed by the FBI on Wednesday — murdered three people in Massachusetts after a drug deal went wrong in 2011, law enforcement sources tell NBC News. Tamerlan has since died after a confrontation with police in Watertown, Mass., while Dzhokhar is still on the run. Details are sketchy, but the general picture seems to be that the Tsarnaev family is from Chechnya, a republic in southern Russia (i.e., the Russian Caucasus). The report states that law enforcement officials now believe 24-year-old Katherine Russell Tsarnaeva called Tamerlan to let him know the FBI was looking for him after she saw his photos on the news. Though officials believe Tsarnaev was already aware, he and his younger brother went on the run a short time later, culminating in his death and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's arrest. Investigators were told of the alleged phone call by Dzhokhar in his interrogation before he was read his Miranda rights.

The FBI revealed on Friday that they had interviewed Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev in 2011, after a foreign government alerted officials that he had possible ties to extremists. Federal officials vetted Tamerlan Tsarnaev but their probe not produce any 'derogatory' information and the matter was put 'to bed,' a U.S. law enforcement source said. The revelation is the first indication that Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his younger brother, Dzhokhar, were known to U.S. security officials prior to Monday's bombings, U.S. authorities said.

Media Bias: There's palpable dismay at outlets such as MSNBC and Salon that the Boston Marathon bombers were radicalized young men from Chechnya and not angry white males from the vast right-wing conspiracy. Shortly after Monday's tragedy in Boston, David Sirota of Salon Magazine penned a piece titled "Let's hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white American." His hopes were dashed when the suspects turned out to be Muslim brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, whose family origins are in Chechnya, the rebellious Russian region that is a breeding ground for terrorists. A Cornerite e-mails: I wanted to call your attention to the fact that the dead Boston bomber’s website contained links to Muslim end-time (Madhist) websites discussing the prophecies about the “Black Banners of Khorosan”. Charles Cameron at the Zenpundit blog has been writing specifically about Madhism and end-time prophecies as a factor in terrorism for years now, and is a very informative source. See for example this post (http://zenpundit.com/?p=3205) or just go to Zenpundit.com and do a search on “Black Banners”. The fact that they are Madhists is probably more important than that they are Chechens.

His mouth is agape. His face is awash in blood. On his right side is a wide gash where doctors cut him open to try to start his heart and save his life. The image of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, dead and naked on a slab, snapped by an unknown person, was emailed repeatedly by law enforcement officers Friday morning. “Suspect 1” was written above the gruesome picture. Seeing a photo of one of the Marathon bombing suspects dead was cathartic, said one law enforcement official who saw the picture.
