That usually results in minimal “play” by the media and hopefully (in the view of the news managers) it will be marginalized by Monday morning’s news cycle. Overnight, five more Guantanamo Bay detainees were released from American custody as the process of emptying out the prison facility accelerates. Several of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s former colleagues claimed that he abandoned his unit and his post on June 30th, 2009 leaving behind his weapon and body armor. Several hundred regular and Special forces troops joined the search for the missing private; a search during which at least six Americans were killed. Civilian casualties in Afghanistan hit a record high this year, a UN report says, highlighting worsening violence as US-led troops leave the country after more than a decade of fighting the Taliban. The mind-numbing savagery of radical Islam plumbed new depths in Pakistan yesterday. Taliban terrorists shouting “Allahu akbar” attacked the Army Public School and Degree College in Peshawar, slaughtering 142 people, including 132 children between the ages of six and 16. Six months after the military began an investigation into the disappearance of Army Sgt.
