WASHINGTON — The U.S. Capitol Police are investigating a suspicious package with a powdery substance that was found at the office of Sen. Max Baucus. The Montana Democrat is chairman of the Finance Committee and a leader in the Senate's health care debate. Police spokeswoman Kimberly Schneider said there were no reports of illness. Schneider said the substance is being tested. An Associated Press photographer at the scene, in the Hart Senate Office Building, heard officers say there was a threatening note with the package. Schneider would not confirm there was a note.

Dallas police are investigating a suspicious package found Thursday morning in a bathroom in an unsecured area of Love Field.

Just reported. No link yet. My son told me a friend of his was at Love Field when it happened and a security person told him that they had found explosives. There were police everywhere according to my son's friend and the airport traffic was shut down. The news is reporting that a security dog hit on an unattended package but the authorities are not releasing any info yet on whether or not is was explosives.

Norfolk Police, Fire, and Bomb Squad spent the morning investigating the suspicious package at the intersection of East Little Creek Rd and Old Ocean View Rd. Suspicious packages turned up at four foreign missions and at Parliament House in Canberra today. The packages were received by the British high commission and the United States, Japanese and South Korean embassies. Each of the embassies that received the packages represents a country with troops in Iraq.
