STUART, Fla. -- A dramatic rescue ended tragically in Stuart, Florida, a rescue so difficult firefighters say they have never seen anything like it. It happened late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning at the home of a 600-pound woman who was having trouble breathing. Rescuers went in not knowing how difficult it would be to get her out. 40-year-old Gail Grinds was literally stuck to her couch and had to be removed surgically at the hospital. Authorities estimate she had been on the couch anywhere from two to five years. Martin County Fire amd Rescue crews faced what seemed...

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER After three weeks, Stuart News finally prints something about our Support Our Troops Rallies that we can mail to the troops. Unfortunately it's not on their website making it difficult or impossible for most families to email it to the troops! For scans of the pics and copy you can email go to News Piece on 04/04 Rally. What the News is NOT getting yet, is that our community deserves real reportage about our rally to undo the misinformation in the editorials they have featured about all the rallies happening across America and the lies perpetuated...

CITIZENS DEMAND AN EXPLANATION AND APOLOGY for why the Stuart News is censoring newsreportage about Support Our Troops Rallies? I didn't catch any of the extensive radio and TV coverage of this Friday's rally but I noticed there was NO mention of our rally in Saturday's, Sunday's or Monday's editions of either Palm Beach Post or The Stuart News. Now this is passing strange in that News reporter Christine Selvaggi was interviewing people and making notes for a couple of hours at our last rally with the obvious intent of reporting the story. We can only assume the News editors...

Picture galleries now installed from last Friday's Support Our Troops Rally in Stuart, FL. Double the size of previous weeks rally and level of response from the grassroots driving by on Roosevelt bridge was exsplosive. Great coverage from regional TV and radio but not a word or pic in our local Stuart News print media. Go Figure...Next rally Friday 04/04 reaching to span the bridge end to end!

UPDATE 03/28 -Support Our Troops Rally, Stuart, FL Anyone who was there will tell you this was an explosive outpouring of pent-up emotions by Americans- both demonstrators and drive-by traffic- from all over our region- some up from Miami and down from Melbourne who joined in a dramatic show of support for our troops and allies. No question the rally created a spirit of community where folks felt free to express their heartfelt patriotism- the likes of which I've not experienced since WWII. More than 200 demonstrators in Support of Our Troops spanned out on the East side of the...
