A nearly Earth-size storm system was spotted near Neptune's equator, surprising scientists because no bright clouds have ever been seen in that location. Oroville Crews worked into the night Wednesday to shore up the emergency spillway at troubled Oroville Dam, racing to fortify the structure before the next series of storms, the first of which was forecast to hit before midnight. Three storm systems will move into Northern California during the next six days, according to the National Weather Service. A powerful low-pressure system with hurricane-force winds intensified over the north Atlantic Ocean Sunday and Monday, resulting in extraordinary imagery from satellites in space. Winds in the intense non-tropical cyclone were estimated to be at least 90 mph late Sunday, said NOAA's Ocean Prediction Center, which also analyzed the storm with a central pressure as low as 932 millibars Monday morning.
