This is the fourth day of protests in St. Louis after the acquittal of former St. Louis police officer Jason Stockley, who had been charged with murder in the shooting of a black driver, and President Trump still hasn't said anything. He found time Sunday to retweet a GIF of himself hitting his 2016 presidential rival in the back with a golf ball, a projection of his estimated value to Twitter (approximately $2 billion) and a cartoon showing him literally bringing jobs back to the United States from overseas. But he has yet to comment — on Twitter or otherwise...

After a third night of violence and unrest in St. Louis, about 100 protesters marched in silence along downtown streets Monday during the morning rush hour. Once they reached City Hall, the silence gave way to chants for justice. The city has been marked by protests since Friday, when former police officer Jason Stockley was acquitted on charges of murdering a black motorist after a police chase in 2011. Stockley is white. Overnight Sunday, police arrested more than 80 people after a peaceful protest turned violent as night fell. In a concentrated area downtown, some protesters smashed windows and overturned...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen a single article on Free Republic, or on any place I frequent, talking about the three nights (so far) of rioting in St. Louis after that verdict. St. Louis police is reporting on their twitter that just tonight, there has been significant damage done to businesses in the downtown area, chemicals thrown at police, arrests, injuries received by cops, and weapons and ANTIFA/BLM flags confiscated from violent criminals. See the link above for more information, as I don't know how to post pictures from twitter onto free republic, unfortunately.

The Associated Press reports that around 2:40 PM on Friday, a group of the protesters stood in front of a police transport bus full of officers in riot gear, blocking it from moving. The bus tried to back up, but then a group stood behind the bus, blocking them in. The group then started throwing objects at the bus....

U2 has cancelled its St Louis concert as more protests erupt in the Missouri city over the acquittal of a white cop who shot dead a black man in 2011. Thirty-two people were arrested for the upheaval which saw at least ten officers injured including one who had his jaw broken and another who dislocated his shoulder on Friday night. On Saturday, another 300 marched at West County Center Mall to carry on their demonstration for a second night. Macy's closed its doors in fear of the crowd and there was an increased police presence at the mall. They are...

ST. LOUIS (Reuters) - A Missouri judge on Friday ruled a white former St. Louis police officer was not guilty of murder in the 2011 shooting of a black man, sending hundreds of protesters to the city's streets to voice their anger. With the National Guard on standby in case of violence, authorities appealed to protesters to march peacefully in a state that has seen racially charged clashes in the past. Jason Stockley, 36, was acquitted of first-degree murder for killing Anthony Lamar Smith, 24. The former policeman, who was arrested in May 2016, was accused of planting a gun...

ST. LOUIS • Former St. Louis police officer Jason Stockley was found not guilty Friday of murdering a man while on duty. St. Louis Circuit Judge Timothy Wilson's highly anticipated verdict found a white former St. Louis police officer not guilty of first-degree murder and amed criminal action in the December 2011 shooting death of a black drug suspect after a high-speed pursuit and crash. Activists, with support from some of the city's black clergy, had pledged disruptive protests ahead of St. Louis Circuit Judge Timothy Wilson's verdict.

ST. LOUIS – The mayor of St. Louis says the city is “on edge” as it awaits a ruling in the first-degree murder trial of former police officer Jason Stockley, in part because of a troubled history of justice in St. Louis and nationwide. Stockley is accused of fatally shooting Anthony Lamar Smith in 2011. The case was heard last month but it’s unclear when Judge Timothy Wilson will rule. Activists have threatened civil disobedience if Stockley, who is white, is acquitted in the death of the black suspect.
