The American dollar is in bad need of a makeover. Thanks to the Dollar ReDe$ign Project, we may now have some options. Organized by creative strategy consultant Richard Smith, the Dollar ReDe$ign Project is soliciting ideas for the dollar bill of the future. "Our great 'rival', the Euro, looks so spanky in comparison it seems the only clear way to revive this global recession is to rebrand and redesign," the project notes on its website.

An alleged 18th Street gang member named three weeks ago as one of the Los Angeles Police Department's 10 most wanted gang members has been captured in Guatemala and deported back to Texas, officials said today. The Brooklyn Park man killed early Tuesday in a Minneapolis apartment had up to 26 wounds from being shot in a botched deal to sell ecstasy, according to a criminal complaint filed Thursday. James A. Barnett, also known as James A. Benett and Charles "Spanky" Barnett, was found dead about 1:30 a.m. in a building in the 2400 block of Golden Valley Rd. in the Willard-Hay neighborhood. Thomas D.
