(AP) -- A former high school valedictorian in Virginia was charged Tuesday with conspiring to assassinate President Bush and conspiracy to support the al-Qaida terrorist network. Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, 23, a U.S. citizen, made an initial appearance Tuesday in U.S. District Court. Brazilian police have arrested a man believed to be a member of the terrorist group that killed 58 foreign tourists, including six Britons, in Luxor, Egypt in 1997. Mohammed Ali al-Mahdi Ibrahim Soliman was arrested in front of his house in the city of Foz de Iguacu, 510 miles south west of Sao Paulo. The Supreme Court had ordered Soliman's arrest after receiving a request from Egypt for his extradition to face charges of terrorism.
