Christianity is the foundation of Western Society. However, many in political and academic arenas deny the historical and current benefits of Christianity. We recently examined the histories of European tribes in the early Middle Ages, from 300 years before to 300 years after conversion to Christianity. Our analysis discovered marked statistical improvements in tribal society measures following conversion to Christianity. Following Christianization, tribal-based populations developed more organized, peaceful, compassionate, and just societies. These early medieval countries, while underdeveloped by today’s standards, laid the groundwork for the constitutional democracies that many enjoy today which provide for economic advancement and judicial fairness...

Teleios evaluated various publicly available social, political and economic measures of the 20 countries with the highest average Gross Domestic Product (GDP) who were listed in the top 25% of the Economic Freedom Index versus the 20 with the GDP in the bottom 75%. Our analysis showed countries with the highest mean GDP also ranked in the top 25% of free countries, and demonstrated additional differences that might impact general wellbeing, including greater: human, economic and press freedom, more happiness and less corruption. As an underlying moral and ethical base, freer countries were more often Christian in background. Read more...
  • Rasmussen Survey: Is American society fair or discriminatory? Party, race may affect how you answer

    Deseret News ^ | 06/23/2020 | Scott Rasmussen
Back in the 1990s, I began asking a simple polling question that highlights a massive change in the way Americans view their country: Generally speaking, is American society fair and decent or is it unfair and discriminatory? In those long-ago days, voters overwhelmingly responded fair and decent, typically by a 2-to-1 margin. Things are much different today. Polling I conducted this past weekend found that just 38% of voters nationwide believe our society is generally fair and decent. Nearly half (47%) believe our society is unfair and discriminatory. That’s consistent with data I cited a few weeks back showing that...

How Beautiful We Were by VANDERLEUN on JUNE 23, 2020 A short list. In no particular order. We told our children that any child could grow up to be President. And then we made it come true. We had car shows, boat shows, beauty shows and dog shows. We ran robots on the surface of Mars by remote control. Our women came from all over the world in all shapes and sizes and hues and scents. We actually believed that all men are created equal and tried to make it come true. Everybody liked our movies and loved our television...

Short-sighted negotiations between Major League Baseball owners and players are sabotaging the chance for a renaissance that the game desperately needs. Each passing day without Major League Baseball stands as a stain on America’s national pastime and represents a sad failure to capitalize on a golden opportunity for the game and the country. Today, we should be distracted from our work, glued to our televisions, computers, or smartphones watching otherwise meaningless spring training games with greater interest than ever before, in anticipation of the return to normalcy of the daily drama of baseball. At a minimum, our ailing nation could use the...

For the third month in a row, FBI NICS checks–gun sales and transfers–set records. Can’t imagine why! Here’s a piece of news that broke like the wind in every gun-grabber’s e-mail inbox yesterday morning: This past May beat all previous May records for gun sales. It’s the third-largest month for gun sales of all time, and according to this article courtesy of NRA-ILA, “The NICS office has already run nearly 54 percent of the checks it ran in total last year, and we haven’t reached the traditional hunting season, election-season, and holiday sales spikes.” Now, as you Freedom’s Lodge readers...

Further, freer countries are much more likely to be Christian. In contrast, countries which persecute Christians are associated with poorer measures of freedom and wellbeing for the entire population. In summary, freedom in Christianity is good for society in promoting a healthy population!

For way too long, too many conservatives and other normal people have failed to deploy our most potent weapon in the defense of free thought and expression – the utter refusal to go along with the demands of the carnivorous left. As has been said before by me and others, we need to introduce these spoiled brats to the concept of “no.” This is a critical moment, and how we react now will determine if our future is citizenship or serfdom. The Democrats’ kinetic operation that was the rioting has failed, the violent thuggery egged-on and enabled by half-wit MSNBCNN...
  • A book published nearly 25 years ago predicted America would hit a great crisis climaxing in 2020 — and that up next is a millennial vs. boomer standoff that will usher in a new world order

A great crisis in 2008, followed by an even greater one in 2020, as an "authoritarian, severe, unyielding" leader from the baby boomer generation resists a historic moment of change afoot in the US. Would you believe this was all predicted almost 25 years ago? In a book championed at the highest levels of the Trump administration, no less? Oh, and it was also written by the guys who invented the term "millennial." It was all prophesied in 1997 in Neil Howe and William Strauss' "The Fourth Turning," and, depending on who you ask, it was either a breakthrough in...

I have been posting a lot about my upcoming book Live Not By Lies, though it won’t be published until September, because events of the past ten days have validated its thesis beyond anything I could have expected. It’s a book that tells Americans — especially American Christians — to prepare themselves for “soft totalitarianism” at the hands of the woke, who are taking over established institutions. It offers lessons from those who endured Soviet, and Soviet bloc, hard totalitarianism. As I was finishing the book this spring, I worried that the thesis might be hard for many Americans to...

COVID-19 has dominated every aspect of our lives, and in fact, it’s even revealing why the upcoming elections matter. At iVoterGuide, we hope these six reasons will encourage you in your passion for our country’s government. Reason #1: COVID-19 reminds us that elected officials can make life and death decisions. In America, “we the people” govern, and we get the government we deserve. Elected officials can make life and death decisions that affect massive numbers of people, the viability of the entire economy and the future of generations. Elections aren’t just about “politics.” They are about life, death and the future....
  • Twitter And Social Media Are A Cancer On Our Civic Life. They Don’t Deserve Protection

The debate about whether social media companies should have protection from liability misses a larger question about their role in American society. There’s nothing like a row between Twitter and President Trump to turn everyone into an expert on 47 U.S. Code § 230, a heretofore obscure section of federal law that deals with liability protections for companies like Twitter.Go on social media right now and you’re bound to find friends, neighbors, and colleagues opining on federal statutes and citing old Supreme Court cases to bolster their arguments that we have to do this or that right now to save the...

A question of power is at the heart of the new and interesting book by Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay. The Anglo-American liberal duo did a tremendous service to the academy in 2018 by hoaxing several “grievance studies” journals that publish shoddy activist scholarship. Their book, “Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything about Race, Gender, and Identity—And Why This Harms Everybody,” explains the theoretical foundations of activist disciplines in the academy and warns policymakers about the threats they pose. The central thesis is thus: Our institutions of higher education are under attack from the virus of post-modernism, along with...

Have you noticed We have a new religion that has somehow infiltrated the world. It came overnight and crept into the populace. It was spread far and wide by the disciples in the media/politics and drumbeat into the minds worldwide by a barrage of doom reporting. That new religion is Covidism and its symbol is not a cross but a mask. That symbol is now being used to force those nonbelievers into submission in every venue. The symbol of Covidism has become an instrument of power for those both in power and those who wish to attain a level of...
