UTOPIA? California Bans Tiny Plastic Shampoo Bottles in Hotels as Homeless Crisis Deepens The State of California unveiled a set of new rules regulating their hospitality industry this week; banning the use of small, disposable plastic bottles commonly distributed to guests at nationwide chains and hotels. “California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced Wednesday that he signed legislation into law banning hotels from distributing small plastic bottles to guests filled with personal products like shampoo, conditioner or soap,” reports The Hill. The new rules take effect on January 1, 2023 and apply to hotels with more than 50 rooms or suites....
  • Stopped Using Shampoo and Hair is Better

I’m almost 60 and have had a full head of obsidian hair all my life. It started thinning out about a year ago. I quit using shampoo about a month ago (just rinsing and scrubbing with hot water) and it has started to grow back in and thicken (caveman like, LOL). I know a lot of it is genetics, but makes me wonder if the chemicals in the modern shampoos and soaps are screwing us up genetically. Anyone had any similar experiences.

Cocamide diethanolamine (cocamide DEA) is a chemically-modified form of coconut oil, sometimes used as a thickener or foaming agent in a number of products. It has also been listed by the state of California as a known carcinogen, meaning manufacturers are required to include a warning on the label. But recent tests found 98 shampoos, soaps, and other personal care products, that contain the chemical but don’t have any warning.

TWO NUNS WERE SHOPPING AT A 7-11 STORE. AS THEY PASSED BY THE BEER COOLER, ONE NUN SAID TO THE OTHER, "WOULDN'T A NICE COOL BEER OR TWO TASTE WONDERFUL ON A HOT SUMMER EVENING?" THE SECOND NUN ANSWERED, "INDEED IT WOULD, SISTER, BUT I WOULD NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE BUYING BEER, SINCE I AM CERTAIN IT WOULD CAUSE A SCENE AT THE CHECKOUT STAND." "I CAN HANDLE THAT WITHOUT A PROBLEM" THE OTHER NUN REPLIED AND SHE PICKED UP A SIX-PACK AND HEADED FOR THE CHECK-OUT. THE CASHIER HAD A SURPRISED LOOK ON HIS FACE WHEN THE TWO NUNS ARRIVED...

People such as me are often accused of wanting to return to the 19th century. But, if the New York Times is right about a new trend, some on the Left want to go back to the Middle Ages. What is that trend? Avoiding soap, deodorant, and even bathing regularly. Today, though, it’s often for environmental reasons. It seems that top-notch Western hygiene has now joined SUVs, Wal-Mart, tobacco (not the wacky kind — it’s in fashion), guns, McDonald’s, and white males in the Museum of Politically Incorrect Persons, Places, and Things. For example, Guardian writer Kira Cochrane tells us...

She says: "Conventional shampoo and conditioner are like heroin for your hair. Shampoo and conditioner are something you've never questioned the existence of. But did you know they weren't used until the 20th Century? These packaged products are often expensive and contain toxins that are dangerous to our health. You can be well coifed and conscientious. Umbra shows you how make DIY shampoo and conditioner with baking soda, apple cider vinegar and water. Save money, save the planet, save yourself. No Poo Shampoo and Conditioner!" She's so tricksy!

Golden, celebrity-endorsed shampoo for sale -- 13,000 bottles of it -- sits in the Ormond Beach garage of actor John Martino. Hollywood Movie Hair Products was his dream business, just coming into fruition when the venture was tarnished unexpectedly -- not of Martino's doing. Now he's hoping to polish the product with an image makeover. Martino -- most famous for his Godfather role of Paulie, a turncoat driver killed off in the first Godfather trilogy episode -- never expected part of his real life business to become involved in a new drama. But there he was on a sunny June...

A gang of eight men accused of planning to blow up transatlantic aircraft whilst in mid-air wanted to inflict “heavy casualties”, it was alleged at Woolwich Crown Court today. Prosecutor Peter Wright said the victims of the terror attacks would have been an “unwitting civilian population” and that the men planned to inflict the casualties all in the name of Islam with a series of coordinated explosions. Woolwich Crown Court heard how homemade devices would have been smuggled on to aircraft...

LIMA, Peru - A Peruvian school teacher blinded four of her pupils and left 20 suffering from severe eye irritation after she used a traditional hair shampoo to wash away hair lice, parents of the children and medical staff said Tuesday. The state school teacher used a mixture of alcohol and seeds from the cherimoya fruit on the children, aged between 4 and 5 years old, Monday to rid a local bout of hair lice in the remote coastal town of Paijan, 355 miles north of Lima. The mixture had run down into the children's eyes and "has affected four...

Early puberty linked to shampoos Unbeknown to many parents, a few hair products - especially some marketed to black people - contain small amounts of hormones that could cause premature sexual development in girls. The evidence that hair products containing oestrogens cause premature puberty is largely circumstantial, and the case is still unproven. But Ella Toombs, acting director for the Office of Cosmetics and Colors at the US Food and Drug Administration, told New Scientist : "No amount [of oestrogen] is considered safe and can be included in an over-the-counter product." Under FDA regulations, over-the-counter products containing hormones are drugs,...
