January 4, 2017 Memorial of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Religious Reading 1 1 Jn 3:7-10 Children, let no one deceive you. The person who acts in righteousness is righteous, just as he is righteous. Whoever sins belongs to the Devil, because the Devil has sinned from the beginning. Indeed, the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the Devil. No one who is begotten by God commits sin, because God's seed remains in him;he cannot sin because he is begotten by God. In this way,the children of God and the children of the Devil are made plain;no one who...

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad suffered a heart attack while visiting the United States and was hospitalized for treatment, according to a spokesman from the Palestinian Authority on the West Bank. Fayyad felt chest pains Sunday while visiting Austin, Texas, for his son's graduation from the University of Texas, Dr. Ghassan Khatib said from Ramallah early Tuesday. The prime minister was hospitalized and doctors found a blocked artery that they corrected, Khatib said. Fayyad is in "good condition" at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas, spokesperson Adrienne Lallo told CNN on Monday.

Like putting a fox in charge of a chicken coop, Seton Hall University is allowing a pro-homosexual professor to give a course on “The Politics of Gay Marriage.” When plans for the anti-Catholic course were first announced at the diocesan university, the Most Reverend John J. Myers, Archbishop of Newark, responded. “This proposed course seeks to promote as legitimate a train of thought that is contrary to what the Church teaches. As a result, the course is not in synch with Catholic teaching,” he stated. However, despite the archbishop’s misgivings the course was not stopped. According to the New Jersey...

According to an article published by The Setonian on April 15, a course on homosexual “marriage” will be offered next semester at Seton Hall University, a Catholic university in New Jersey with approximately 10,000 students. Here is the red flag: The course will be taught by Professor King Mott, a pro-homosexual activist whose biography, posted on Seton Hall’s web site, mentions his affiliation with Lambda Legal, Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies, and Human Rights Campaign -- groups that promote ideas that run contrary to Catholic moral teaching. Although the article in The Setonian affirms that the planned classes will...

Celebrating Our Survival: Why May 16 is Special for Scouting http://www.scouter.com/features/0026.asp May 3, 1999 By MaryAnn Gardner The founding of the Boy Scouts of America in 1910 was the establishment of the National organization. It opened the door to fun and learning in the outdoors to thousands of American boys. It's founding, however, did not guarantee that the organization would survive. Certainly, Baden-Powell had supplied the basics for Scouting in America along with Ernest Thompson Seton, founder of the Woodcraft Indians, and Daniel Carter Beard, founder of the Society of the Sons of Daniel Boone. Seton and Beard brought emphasis...

The Lion That Squeaked by Seton Motley | Published Yesterday | Opinion The Lion That Squeaked It appears there is less room at the Governor’s mansion than originally thought And then there were two? Carole Keeton Strayhorn Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn, who for the previous fifteen months has made it appear all but certain that she was ready and willing to run against current Governor Rick Perry in one or another politically affiliated capacity, has suddenly, it seems, acquired frigid feet, or at the very least blinked whilst staring down the incumbent. Last Monday, Madame Comptroller shocked the 2006 watch...
