Deputies are investigating after an intruder was fatally shot in a home near Thursday night Monroe. Authorities responded after an 80-year-old woman called 911 to report she had shot an intruder in the 13700 block of Woods Lake Road before 9 p.m. Police said the intruder broke into the home and stabbed a 75-year-old man. A state judge threw out a portion of a Seattle ordinance requiring garbage collectors to snoop through residents’ trash in search of food waste, calling the provision unconstitutional.
