Earlier today, a few of us were talking about the satirically campy exchanges that occur all too often on Hannity's radio program. jaop As much as Willie Cunningham is loved, he should be flogged for introducing Hannity to the phrase "great American". On average, how many times per show will Hannity and a guest call each other "great Americans"? We counted 9 during the last hour of his show; pre-Christmas vacation. It's been a point of curiousity, besides .... good-golly, geez, it's such a swell topic for pals to talk about! Kinda of like a bad joke gone stale i.e....

Tom DeLay will probably be on at the top of the hour. Sean asks why isn't the ACLU helping DeLay? I'm sure Sean is being sarcastic. lol

There is no more telling statistic in the 2004 elections than the U. S. Senate results. Of 34 Senate seats up for grabs, 15 were Republican, 19 were Democrat. The net loss of four seats represents a loss of over 20% of the seats for the Democrats. When you look at the demographics of the Democrat incumbents, another frightening reality sets in for the Democrats. Several of those re-elected were "old" names, such as Dodd and Leahy, who had political machines and a liberal voting base that would almost guarantee their reelection. I see an unalterable divide. I really suggest everyone here go to Democratic Underground (where we are not allowed to post, per their rules) and read what they are saying. Expect a lot of anger, profanity, anti-religous bigotry and hatred. See a lot of mischaracterization of who we are and what we believe. I see this divide as somewhat permanant. On a personal level people can and do change. In my experience getting people to either become involved in the shooting sports or going to church and over time their politics are going to change.
