President Barack Obama on Monday rejected any negotiation with Republicans over the most pressing U.S. fiscal issue, refusing to trade cuts in government spending in exchange for raising the borrowing limit.

Why is there NO REPUBLICAN calling together a committee to investigate this? Why are no subpoenas being issued? Why is no one being put under oath? Forgive me if this vanity is an egregious offense to protocol, I do not mean it to be. And take it down if necessary. I just believe this is an enormous question that a lot of us have, and it deserves to be answered. Does anyone know?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Wednesday praised Republican Leader Mitch McConnell for putting forth a plan to raise the debt ceiling, calling it a “serious proposal” that he’s continuing to study. “He spent a great deal of time working on this.
