Beloved Texan Freeper, Tom Eaker (Eaker on FR), has left us. Prayers to family and friends in this most difficult time.

I regret to inform our FReeper family that BlackELk passed away from a combination of numerous chronic conditions and a head trauma. Black Elk passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017. Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. Working and praying on behalf of the unborn and those who challenged the abortion industry was his life's vocation, as an attorney he represented and won the acquittal of over 700 pro-life rescuers. He wanted to be remembered for that. He GREATLY appreciated FReepers' prayers last time, and though he was comatose at the end, Mrs. Elk conveyed your prayers and wishes for him verbally....

I am so sad that I have to announce that our friend and fellow Freeper, PennsylvaniaMom, has passed this morning. Although most of us never met her in person, her sweet nature and sense of humor shone through in her posts. She was one of the first to join my Quinn and Rose morning show daily show list back in 2008. She was our 'weathergirl' regularly posting the Weather Bell posts. We went through children's weddings, our husbands' health problems and grandbabies births together. She was a loving wife, mom, and grandmother. I am crying as I post this. Rest...

We have heard from his brother that Steve0113 (Stephen Burke) has passed away. Steve passed away from cancer and ESRD in September 2015. Steve's wife Nina0113 was also a FReeper and she passed away in 2011. The 0113 represents their wedding day, January 13. Prayers for their family and loved ones. Rest in peace, dear friends Nina and Steve. Godspeed.

Received a message from his wife that Dale Reed has passed away. Dale was a long-term conservative activist and a FReeper since nearly the beginning of Free Republic. He was one of the founding members of our Southern California Chapter. Dale and his wife and several members from Southern California were present at the 1998 picnic and meeting in Fresno where our activism efforts through chapters were basically born. Mrs. smoothsailing contacted me today to relate that longtime FReeper smoothsailing passed away yesterday, 9-13-16 of pancreatic cancer. Smoothsailing will be missed here at FR, he was a staunch conservative, a true patriot and a gentleman. He was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Pennsylvania. Dear Freepers Basil, suffered a stroke in early January. It left her paralyzed on her right side and unable to speak. She's got very limited speech and her mental faculties are diminished. She spent many weeks in a therapeutic hospital but when it became apparent that her condition wouldn't improve, our family decided she'd be much happier at home. Hopefully we can minimize her suffering and keep her comfortable. Please pray for her, and Mr. Basil who is an amazing care giver and hasn't left her side.

Many FReepers who frequent the Canteen threads might know MeekMom (known to many as Kristin). MeekMom passed away on July 15, 2016, at the age of 50. She was born March 11, 1966 in Indianapolis, IN and passed away at home in Valparaiso, IN of natural causes. Besides her sweet and loving Maine Coon cat Elsa, who lived with her, she leaves behind one son, her parents, one brother and one sister; as well as a niece and nephew who she loved dearly. My daughter Kelly has been in the hospital all week fighting a blood infection. She was moved to ICU today and put on a ventilator because of severe pneumonia. She is not doing very well and I would appreciate the prayers of our prayer warriors here on Free Republic.
