The Relationship Between Social Justice and Impeachment I have not found a definition of “social justice” that conforms to the Constitution. Defining social justice by example is better. America achieves justice by guaranteeing every citizen “due process in law”. The guarantee is that the accused may challenge the evidence and witnesses against him and offer his own evidence and witnesses. The accused does not need to prove innocence; the task is for the courts to prove guilt. Learning that Social Justice offers better justice over existing due process justice guaranteed by the Constitution is intriguing. So of course the first...

Romantic couples with a large age gap often raise eyebrows. Studies have found partners with more than a ten-year gap in age experience social disapproval. But when it comes to our own relationships, both men and women prefer someone their own age, but are open to someone 10-15 years their junior or senior. While there is variation across cultures in the size of the difference in age-gap couples, all cultures demonstrate the age-gap couple phenomenon. In some non-Western countries, the average age gap is much larger than in Western countries. For example, in some African countries about 30% of...

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is frequently at odds with President Donald Trump, but told reporters Monday during a visit to Washington, DC, that he wanted to maintain a connection with the president in spite of it all. We’ve had multiple conversations over the last few months,” both by phone and in person, Newsom said. “I want to continue to have a relationship with the president on things that matter, and what matters is emergency preparedness, mitigation and suppression,” the governor said. “And that’s an area that should be above politics, apolitical, and I just think that’s critical and I want...

Days after cancelling a planned visit to North Korea by his top diplomat citing insufficient progress in denuclearisation talks, US President Donald Trump hailed his personal relationship North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Wednesday and said there was no reason to resume war games with South Korea. Trump's statement came a day after his defence secretary hinted that the drills, which North Korea denounces as rehearsals for invasion, could resume. Trump tweeted a White House statement in which he once again questioned China's role in helping to resolve the crisis over North Korea's development of nuclear weapons that threaten...

Just an addendum: The carrier is now in Danang. -- In the next few days, a U.S. aircraft carrier will make a port call in Vietnam's coastal city of Danang for the first time since the end of the Vietnam War. Though the move has long been in the works and is just a single engagement, it nonetheless bears noting given its significance for U.S.-Vietnam ties, U.S. defense policy, as well as the region more broadly. The idea of a U.S. aircraft carrier visit to Vietnam has been in the works since last year and first surfaced publicly in the...

DONALD Trump and Theresa May have vowed to make the special relationship between Britain and the US “stronger than ever”, Britain’s ambassador to Washington has revealed. Few people know this, but Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton celebrated their professional anniversary in September: it’s been 20 years since the two first started working side-by-side. Now, with the election roughly 30 days away, many are wondering how Abedin's role might evolve in a Hillary Clinton White House. Would she continue on as Clinton’s body woman, confidante, fixer, mind-reader? Or after two decades, is she (understandably) ready for a change?

Seth Mandel explains how President Hussein Obama is using (a willing) Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to drive a wedge in the US-Israel relationship. [N]othing Obama has done to damage Israel’s standing in Congress could compare to getting Chuck Schumer — the supposed shomer (guardian, in Hebrew) of Israel — to ensure the survival of a nuclear deal that rearranges America’s Mideast alliances by elevating Tehran at the expense of the Israelis, the Saudis, the Jordanians and the Egyptians, among others. And that’s why crowds in Times Square Wednesday night chanted “Where is Chuck Schumer?” As Schumer continues to avoid...

We Cannot Love God if We Do Not Love His Word from R.C. Sproul Mar 27, 2015 Category: Articles Emil Brunner, the twentieth-century Swiss theologian and one of the fathers of neoorthodox theology, wrote a little book titled Truth as Encounter. His thesis was that when we study the things of God, we are not studying truth in the abstract. We want to understand theology not merely so that we can make an A on a theology exam. We want to understand the doctrine of God so that we can understand God, so that we can meet the living God...

WASHINGTON — CNN anchor Jake Tapper said the relationship between President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is deteriorating and the respect the two leaders have for each other knows bounds. “I spent the first four years of Obama as the White House correspondent for ABC News and it was just fascinating to watch the relationship deteriorate from the very beginning when — I’m sure I’m going to mess up the chronology here — but there was a Biden trip to Israel and he landed and immediately new settlements were announced. There was Netanyahu not being permitted to come...

Facebook unwittingly provides evidence of infidelity and new relationships, helps track people’s movements and records expenditure on everything from cars to holidays. Facebook is now cited in a third of all divorce cases, research has shown. A survey of legal firms’ caseloads revealed the social network is increasingly relied upon as proof of inappropriate behaviour. Facebook unwittingly provides evidence of infidelity and new relationships, helps track people’s movements and records expenditure on everything from cars to holidays. Leeds law firm Lake Legal said many cases revolved around social media users who got back in touch with old flames they hadn’t...

I have a confession to make. I’m done doing devotionals. It started a few years ago. I showed up for an appointment and learned I would have to wait for about 45 minutes. I headed to my car to find something to do during the wait (this must have been before smart phones, because now none of us ever wonder what to do with 45 minutes). I found a Bible in my car, so I brought it inside. I thought: “Great, I’ll take this time to do my devotional for the day.” Then I realized I couldn’t. First of all,...

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - A 22-year-old B.C. woman is suing her ex-boyfriend to pay tuition for a class she says she failed due to distress over the breakup. She also wants Jasmeet Ahluwalia to pay court costs. Plawn says in the court document that she met the international student in September 2013, they broke up in early 2014, got...

US President Barack Obama released a statement Tuesday, conveying the "warmest wishes" to Israel on its 66th Independence Day. Obama acknowledged the Jews' millennia-long struggle to return to their ancient homeland and their success in achieving that dream in 1948. "Generations of Jews dreamed of the day when the Jewish people would have their own state in their historic homeland, and 66 years ago today that dream came true," he stated. "Today, Israel thrives as a diverse and vibrant democracy and as a 'start-up nation' that celebrates entrepreneurship and innovation." He stated that the Israel-US relationship is "based on shared...

Incredible is the word for the news that the Obama administration has warned Britain against betting on American backing if it withdraws from the European Union. In all of President Obama’s leftism, there is little so myopic as this. Yet that’s the news that broke over the weekend, and on Memorial Day, no less. It’s a day on which we remember the fallen in our wars. It’s hard think of any country that has stood faster with us — and vice versa — than Great Britain. So if the British people were to decide, democratically, that their best interests lie...

The most accurate crime statistics are on murders. When proponents of infringements on the Second Amendment talk about murders, they often claim that murders by strangers are only a small percentage of the total, often about one quarter. This statistic is misleading, because it implies that people that you are close to are the most likely to murder you. The largest category of victim to murderer is unknown. That is 44 percent of the murders reported to the FBI. The next largest category is acquaintance. It is 21 percent of murderers. The misleading part is that all people who...
