LOS ANGELES – The Miss USA pageant, left without a TV home following blowback against co-owner Donald Trump over his comments on Mexican immigrants, has been rescued by the Reelz channel. In a statement Thursday, Reelz CEO Stan E. Hubbard said the cable and satellite channel acquired the rights because of a belief that the pageant and the women who compete in it “are an integral part of American tradition.” (It's great television, also) http://www.ocregister.com/articles/trump-669954-miss-reelz.html

Miss USA pageant is rescued by Reelz. The annual beauty competition which is held by Miss Universe organization partly owned by Donald Trump was previously dropped by Univision and then NBC after the real estate tycoon made derogatory comments about Mexican immigrants. "The decision on the part of REELZ to acquire the rights to the Miss USA pageant was based on our belief that this special event, and the women who compete in it, are an integral part of American tradition," says Reelz's CEO Stan E. Hubbard in a statement. "As one of only a few independent networks, we decided...

"The Undefeated," a documentary about former Alaskan governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin drawn from her memoir, "Going Rogue: An American Life," seems to have been made as a piece of political promotion for the 2012 presidential race. But before "The Undefeated" premiered in a tiny number of theaters, Palin announced that she would not run. The film did not do well, either financially or critically. Now it has found a secondary purpose — running on Reelz Channel as an answer to the much-touted HBO film "Game Change." Where "Game Change" portrays Palin as a woman professionally unqualified and personally...

Next month's battle of the Sarah Palins on cable TV could be flippin' awesome. The director of a pro-Palin documentary has come out swinging against HBO's upcoming dramatization of the 2008 presidential campaign, "Game Change." And on Tuesday, the scrappy Reelz network announced that his film on the former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential candidate, "The Undefeated," will premiere March 11 -- strategically placed just one day after "Game Change." That's not all. Steve Bannon, writer-director of "The Undefeated," accuses HBO of a grand conspiracy to undermine Palin's political career. The pay-cable network, he said in a phone interview...
  • The New Blacklist: ‘Kennedys’ (Miniseries) Pulled Due to Surnow’s (conservative)Politics

Short version: ”Yeah, the miniseries is fair and so we now know for a fact that Joel Surnow’s $30 million project was discriminated against because of his personal politics.” Switch out the word “conservative” with Islam, gay, Black, female, Leftist or whatever and tell me how la-dee-da everyone would be about it. Because everyone already knows how things operate for conservatives in Hollywood and either agree with the discrimination or are used to it, no one cares. There’s also a bigger play at work here, the same play we saw in the fury ginned up by the Left prior to...

Last night, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Greg Kinnear and over one thousand other movie-industry types attended the Hollywood premiere of the “controversial” Kennedy miniseries that will start airing this Sunday on the ReelzChannel. I was also there, though, oddly, Tom and Katie never said hello. “The Kennedys” has been and will be the subject of much debate because it was scheduled to air on the History Channel before the History Channel caved to backchannel political pressure exerted by the Kennedy family (specifically Caroline Kennedy and Maria Shriver) and claimed that the epic, eight-part miniseries didn’t “fit the History brand.” Keep...
