Three women were walking along an East Passyunk sidewalk minding their own business when a man comes alongside and begins to punch them. The brutal assault happened Wednesday night on the 1200 block of Morris Street and has left the neighborhood on edge. An Indian origin doctor in Britain was pelted with stones and verbally abused by a gang of youths in a racially motivated attack following the London bombings. Yashen Maharaj, 28, who was attacked on July 23, had worked as part of Medway National Health Service Trust's standby team to treat victims of the July 7 London bombings.
