Michael Smith is still a “SportsCenter” host … for now. The ESPN personality may not last much longer in that role after he blasted the company for its mishandling of the program. Specifically, Smith is upset about ESPN trying to alter how he and former co-anchor Jemele Hill believed their version of “SportsCenter” should run.

The first movie I remember seeing in a theater had a black hero. Lando Calrissian, played by Billy Dee Williams, didn’t have any superpowers, but he ran his own city. That movie, the 1980 Star Wars sequel The Empire Strikes Back, introduced Calrissian as a complicated human being who still did the right thing. That’s one reason I grew up knowing I could be the same. If you are reading this and you are white, seeing people who look like you in mass media probably isn’t something you think about often. Every day, the culture reflects not only you but...

In the hazy beginnings of 2017, the film Get Out debuted and managed to give an entire new twist to the horror genre. The lingering effects of Jordan Peele’s directorial debut, which delivered a black spin on Rosemary’s Baby-esque body horror, are still felt to this day. Get Out was not only nominated for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Director at the 2018 Oscars, but its lead actor Daniel Kaluuya was also nominated for Best Actor. That a genre film could defy tradition with multiple nominations — horror is rarely nominated, save for prestige horror like the aforementioned...

President Trump has proposed nothing less than a vast overhaul of the country’s immigration policy, seeking an end to the diversity visa lottery and family sponsorship programs in favor of a system that would privilege immigrants from mostly white countries. “It is time to begin moving towards a merit-based immigration system,” Trump proudly proclaimed to a crowd of cheering Republicans in his first State of the Union on Tuesday night, “one that admits people who are skilled, who want to work, who will contribute to our society, and who will love and respect our country.”

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders had a quick, yet blunt response ready when a reporter asked why so many African-Americans seem to dislike President Donald Trump. During Monday’s news briefing, Yahoo News White House correspondent Hunter Walker posed a race-baiting question to Sanders. “The president has repeatedly touted black unemployment when faced with allegations of racism,” Walker began. “Given those numbers, the low black unemployment, why do you think so many in the African-American community are still so uncomfortable with the president? Sanders quickly admitted she wasn’t qualified to give an accurate answer on behalf of the black...

In analyzing federal data for an in-depth examination of the nation’s historically black colleges and universities, the AJC found that the six-year graduation rates at 20 schools were 20 percent or lower in 2015. This means that four of five beginning freshmen at those schools didn’t earn a degree within six years.

Trump, Miller, Kelly and Sen. Tom Cotton (who fawned over the plan) have always denied they were out to curb legal immigration. However, the main thrust of this bill is, in fact, to cut and reshape legal immigration. The cat is out of the bag, so to speak, and Democrats should resist the invitation to use dreamers to leverage a deal that “whitens” our immigration system.

A black law professor argues that African Americans should embrace the notion that being black in America is a disability as a new legal strategy toward enacting protections for the black community against unconscious bias, stereotyping and structural inequality. Kimani Paul-Emile, an associate professor of law at Fordham University and associate director of its law school’s Center on Race, Law & Justice, argues that while Africans Americans might initially spurn the “blackness as disability” label, it can actually be a wise courtroom plan. The Americans with Disabilities Act defines “disability” as “a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one...

We are seeing, in the name of human rights, an all out assault on the unity of society as the exploitation of social distinctions are on rise. You see one might think the enemy of our souls would use the “old divide and conquer” motive. Not so fast! It is now to “unite and conquer.” One of the marks of the last days is division according to the Words of Jesus that is found in Matthew 10:34-39 He said “…I did not come to bring peace, but a sword…to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother…a...

Guest Column; The Unbiblical Fight for Issues by Ray Vasser Ray Vasser is a friend, brother and Elder in our Church,Believers in Grace Fellowship. He has written on the "Social Justice" trap that many have fallen into, departing from the gospel in the name of fighting for racial equality. I offer you this column for your interest and comments-Bill RandlesI have pondered for some time as I watch our society plummet further into the power of the wicked one (1 John 5:19). I ask that readers please bear with my thoughts on this subject and consider the ramifications I am...

Why do we constantly talk about race and immigration? Race and immigration? It never ends. That's all we talk about. We have allowed the Democrats, liberals, cultural marxists and their Republican suck-ups to set the terms of this national debate. Why do we never talk about balancing the budget or eliminating our $100 trillion federal debt? To me, this is far more important. Why don't we put off the race and immigration debate until we balance the budget? How can we even consider giving illegal immigrants government money when the government is completely broke? Repeat after me---OUR GOVERNMENT IS COMPLETELY...

One thing no liberal will ever turn down is the opportunity to get a standing ovation for accusing someone else of racism. Democrats have placed their opening bid in the immigration talks on Trump's 10-yard line -- a hilariously unbalanced "compromise" that is worse than their original proposal. Now, they are battering him with accusations of racism to force him into an amnesty deal that he was specifically elected to prevent. Forced to choose, soccer moms are going with MSNBC -- and, hey, if that means we'll still have Rosa to clean the house, well, that's OK, too! Liberals have...

WFAA anchor Alisha Laventure gave the President a piece of her mind. Laventure is the daughter of two Haitian immigrants. She says she took personal offense to President Trump’s comments about immigrants from Haiti. “The fact is what the President said the other day is so wrong, I can’t even repeat it,” she said.
