A coalition of black pastors announced on Tuesday at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. that they are launching a campaign to gather one million signatures on a petition calling for the impeachment of Attorney General Eric Holder for violating his oath of office by trying "to coerce states to fall in line with the same-sex 'marriage' agenda." "President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder have turned their backs on the values the American people hold dear, values particularly cherished in the black community: values like marriage, which should be strengthened and promoted, rather than weakened and undermined," says...

Minister Louis Farrakhan, the outspoken and controversial leader of The Nation of Islam, called for a separate court system for African-Americans Sunday because he believes the biased U.S. judicial system does not deliver “equal justice.” Speaking for almost three hours to a crowd of thousands assembled at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit for the last day of the annual convention of the Nation of Islam, Farrakhan railed against the system and encouraged the African-American community to demand its own court system. “We want equal justice under the law,” the Detroit Free Press reported Farrakhan said. “Our people can’t take much...

In fairness to Moore he's probably talking about the atrocities committed totalitarian dictators 20th century (excluding guys like Mao, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein, Muammar Gaddafi, etc., etc., etc...none of the crimes those guys committed count in his estimation)In fairness to me I'm mistakenly assuming that means he's referring to Hitler and Stalin when he's probably referring to Ronald Reagan. In any case, he's a freakin' idiot, with Exhibit infinity below.

One of the jurors who convicted Michael Dunn of attempted murder after he fired into an SUV during a fatal argument over loud music believes he should have been convicted of first-degree murder. "I believed he was guilty," Valerie said in an interview with ABC's "Nightline" early Wednesday. Also known as juror No. 4, she asked that her full name not be given in order to protect her identity. A jury on Saturday night convicted Dunn of three charges of attempted murder for shooting at three teenagers in an SUV and one count of shooting into the vehicle on November...

As a follow up to the shooting in the Military Circle Mall by a black mob, I ran across an essay by Daniel Greenfield (Sultan Knish) "Our state of Police" which analyzes the situation from an interesting perspective. I'm disturbed about the increasing militarization of the police. It's a poor police force indeed that does hot have a SWAT Team and one or more mini-tanks and heavy weapons. But, as Greenfield points out, we're not living in a police state. Not yet. But when the story about what's actually happening in places like the Military Circle Mall - which gets...

When Dolphins tackle Jonathan Martin left the team in November because he said he was being bullied by guard Richie Incognito, the NFL appointed big-name attorney Ted Wells to run an independent investigation into the team. On Friday, that report was released, and it concluded that Incognito, guard John Jerry and center Mike Pouncey "engaged in a pattern of harassment directed" at Martin and another young offensive lineman who wasn't named and an assistant trainer. Writes Wells' team: "We find that the Assistant Trainer repeatedly was targeted with racial slurs and other racially derogatory language. Player A frequently was subjected...

As in the case of George Zimmerman, acquitted in the killing of Trayvon Martin, the public outrage was often directed or misdirected, at the Florida law. Many, including legal commentators who should know better, repeatedly citing the statute as a crucial issue in both cases. And yet neither defendant invoked the controversial aspects of Florida's law. In fact, both defendants argued basic self defense law that would have been similar in just about every state in the nation. The relevant portion of the law of self defense in Florida reads: "A person is justified in the use of deadly force...

San Diego, California (CNN) -- Clarence Thomas has an abundance of two things that are often in short supply whenever Americans talk about race: courage and common sense. The only African-American on the Supreme Court displayed both this week in speaking to a small gathering of students and faculty at Palm Beach Atlantic University, a nondenominational Christian school in Florida. In a series of provocative and insightful comments about race that were first reported by Yahoo! News and confirmed by several people who attended the talk and heard the remarks firsthand, Thomas dropped a few bombshells. This got people's attention...

On Thursday night, hundreds of family, friends, classmates and teammates gathered at the Brandon Ravens football field in Riverview to remember and celebrate Andrew's life and to grieve the death of the Riverview 14-year-old, who went by the nickmane “PeeWee.'' “I had my perfect pair -- one son, one daughter,” said Andrew's mother, Deanna Joseph. “And now my son is gone.” Andrew died Feb. 7 as he tried to cross Interstate 4 on foot and was struck by a passing vehicle. About three hours before the crash, Joseph had been ejected from the Florida State Fair. Dozens were arrested that...

At 12.1 percent the Black unemployment rate is nearly double the national unemployment rate of 6.6 percent. The unemployment rate for Black men over 20 years old jumped from 11.5 percent in December 2013 to 12 percent in January, compared to White men who experienced a decrease in their unemployment rate from 5.6 percent in December 2013 to 5.4 percent in January...

SAN DIEGO — Republican City Councilman Kevin Faulconer defeated Democratic Councilman David Alvarez in the San Diego mayor’s race Tuesday night. Faulconer had 55.2 percent compared to Alvarez’s 44.8 percent with 86 percent of the city's precincts counted. A jubilant Faulconer gave a speech to his supporters about 10:40 p.m. but stopped short of declaring victory. “We know that this city has gone through a lot in the last year, but we knew that as San Diegans that we were better than that and that we were going to come together when we had the opportunity to do that and...

TAMPA — The first Friday of every Florida State Fair brings droves of Hillsborough teens, who get the day off from school and free admission. And each year, shortly after sunset, dozens of unsupervised minors start stampeding through the midway, the Sheriff's Office says. They're fighting each other, robbing other patrons, stealing food and battering deputies. The phenomenon is so common, deputies even have a term for it: They call it "wilding." Authorities said the lawlessness is mostly confined to the first Friday. But they've never publicly shared details until Monday — after several media outlets, including the Tampa Bay...

race yourself for one cringe-worthy interview. While recently promoting his new action flick, "RoboCop," Samuel L. Jackson had a tense exchange with KTLA entertainment reporter Sam Rubin -- after the journalist appeared to confuse Jackson with Laurence Fishburne.

Race-RiotsJohn J. Owens is absolutely sure race had nothing to do with the reason why 30 black people attacked five white people, including a mom and a baby, near Macon Georgia last week. The alleged assailants and victims could have been any race. “Color doesn’t matter, only the ‘idiot factor’ matters,” opined Mr. Owens in the Macon Telegraph. That means the rest is random. Anyone who ever took — and passed — a course in elementary statistics might wander about why Mr. Owens is so willing to dismiss race as a factor in the violence. Because the odds of 30...

Booker T. Washington wrote one of America’s greatest autobiographies, a story of how he rose from slavery to leadership. Washington did not minimize the hardship along the way... Washington believed in economic empowerment that would leave ex-slaves no longer poor and lead to political empowerment. Here are excerpts from chapters eight and ten of Up from Slavery: An Autobiography, first published in 1901. They detail Washington’s attitude toward African-Alabamans he met while starting his famous Tuskegee Institute, and the battles he waged to teach practical matters—the equivalent then of today’s STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics). He did not want students...

...celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman says he got Zimmerman to agree to engage in a celebrity boxing match for charity. However Sharpton, the civil rights activist and leader of the National Action Network, is warning people against being quick to label Zimmerman a celebrity. "We must be very careful not to glorify or in any way sidestep the implications of making someone whose only claim to fame was killing an unarmed young man named Trayvon Martin into a cultural celebrity or hero," Sharpton told CNN. "It is perfectly legal for him to exploit his fame but we should never forget...
