FRESNO, Calif. — On March 10, 2021, Jatinderieet “Jyoti” Sihota, 34, of Selma, was arrested on a federal indictment charging her with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and mail fraud for the submission of over $790,000 in fraudulent crop insurance claims, Acting U.S. Attorney Phillip A. (CNN)A Colorado day care used a "false wall" to hide 26 children under the age of 3 in a basement, police said, concealing the fact it had too many children in its care. Officers went to Play Mountain Place in Colorado Springs Wednesday after complaints about overcrowding there when they found the children along with two adults behind the false wall. ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO - Authorities in St. Francois County are investigating a child abuse case where children were kept confined in small, windowless boxes within a home. According to the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a home in the 100 block of Meadowbrook in Farmington, MO, to assist the Missouri Children’s Division Investigators with a Child Abuse Hotline call. The call alleged that children in the home were being kept locked in rooms secured with plywood and screws. A Minnesota teen has been arrested after police say he tore out his elderly relative’s eyes with his bare hands.Mahad Aziz, 18, was taken into custody on July 27 after Rochester police were called to his family’s apartment. Officers reportedly found Aziz on top of his 74-year-old relative, who had already been severely beaten and was missing both eyes.“Other than murder, it’s as bad as it gets,” said Captain John Sherwin of the Rochester Police Department, via Southern Minnesota Today.
