NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – A 20-year-old woman has been charged with abandoning a baby on a Manhattan subway platform, police said. Frankea Dabbs, who is homeless, was arrested Tuesday. She faces charges of abandoning a child and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17, NYPD said. Dabbs is accused of wheeling a baby girl, strapped in a stroller, onto the platform of the 59th Street and Columbus Avenue station midday Monday, then leaving the child alone among a sea of jostling commuters. Investigators said Dabbs then returned to the No. 1 train.

ELMHURST, Queens (PIX11) – Detectives say she told them that she killed her own baby boy because she had “reached her breaking point.” Now, Nicole “Nikki” Kelly is in police custody charged with the second degree murder of her 11-month-old son, and the story surrounding his death is disturbing to people who knew him and his mother. Researchers in Denmark tested 833 women to see what effect the contraceptive pill had on their reproductive systems.
