HOUSTON -(Dow Jones)- Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal said Thursday that Israel should follow U.S. President Barack Obama's recommendation of an independent Palestinian state based on the borders that existed before the 1967 Arab-Israeli war. In an interview with the Fox Business Network, Prince Alwaleed said Obama's plan, which was set out Thursday, was "straight to the point," and that for Israel "to be in peace with the Arab world, it has to abide by the roadmap Obama has established today." The Saudi royal also said that Obama's "wait-and-see" approach towards the revolts that have shaken Egypt, Libya, Syria and...

Prince Alwaleed has given considerable amounts of money to American universities as well -- notably Georgetown, where dhimmi pseudo-academic John Esposito heads the Prince Alwaleed Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding. This story shows why the intellectual climate in Middle East Studies departments all over the U.S., as well as the U.K., is so pro-jihad and anti-freedom, and doesn't allow for any dissenting voices. "Libya and the LSE: Large Arab gifts to universities lead to 'hostile' teaching," by Stephen Pollard in the Telegraph, March 3: ...Yet, on the most conservative estimate, other British universities have received hundreds of millions of pounds from...

The Fox News Channel and MSNBC may be ideological competitors, but they see things the same way on homosexual “gay pride” in the media business. Rotana Media, the broadcaster and music group owned by Saudi billionaire investor Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, said it had agreed to sell a $70m stake to News Corp, Rupert Murdoch’s global media empire. Rotana said on Tuesday that News Corp had agreed to buy a 9.09 per cent stake with an option to take this up to 18.18 per cent. The move will mark News Corp’s most significant investment so far in the Middle East, where faster GDP growth, a young population and maturing advertising markets have begun to draw US and European media groups facing slow growth in their...

Call it "The Wild 'n Crazy Guy–Billionaire Style." Maria Bartiromo's interview of Prince Alwaleed, the largest shareholder of Citigroup, is literally a Saturday Night Live skit waiting—begging—to be made. CNBC's Bartiromo conducted the interview by remote this afternoon. When the camera went to the prince, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, you might have expected to find him in a TV studio, or perhaps in his business office, or even in one of his palace rooms. But no, there he was sitting outdoors apparently by his stables, with seated camels and sleek horses very visible in the background. And rather than being...

WASHINGTON - Saudi Arabia's latest public relations gambit is a halfmillion dollar donation funneled through an American charity and aimed at stocking America's public libraries with Saudi-approved books and tapes about Islam. The $500,000 donation from Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz al Saud is to the Council on American Islamic Relations. CAIR was founded in 1994 by Nihad Awad, a man who has openly expressed support for Hamas, a group the American government says is a terrorist organization. CAIR's New York chapter has floated bizarre conspiracy theories about the September 11 attacks. Fifteen of the September 11 hijackers...
