When given the choice between attending the White House Correspondents dinner — a swampy D.C. event brimming with uber-rich, out-of-touch media elites — or headlining a rally jam-packed with the kind of real working-class Americans who elected him to the White House, our new president chose the latter. President Trump’s bold decision proved once again that he’s not just a brilliant businessman — he also has excellent political instincts. Why should the president attend a high-profile media event aimed at giving gravitas and ratings to a hyper-partisan industry that has covered his campaign, transition and first 100 days with an...

Only three Republicans are represented in Politico Magazine‘s poll of the White House press corps asking their thoughts about covering President Trump's administration. According to the fourth annual poll, 63 press corps members were surveyed, and only five percent of them were registered Republicans, the same percentage that listed "other." Sixteen percent were Democrats, 37 percent were independents, and 37 percent were non-registered. Last year, none of the 72 members of the White House press corps it surveyed were Republicans, effectively showing an uptick of three members of the GOP in the poll. Since the election, the mainstream press has...

Toward the end of his comic opus on the press, politics and President Trump, the “Daily Show” comedian Hasan Minhaj looked out at the hundreds of journalists gathered in a subterranean hotel ballroom here on Saturday night and declared, “This has been one of the strangest events I have ever done in my life.” The lengthy laughter and applause that followed made clear that he was not the only one who thought that way. No one knew quite what to expect at this year’s edition of the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, the chummy Washington ritual that became a...

Here at Ars, we're always on the lookout for wacky, tech-focused legislation. And we've found one bill that is certain to make our Top 10 list. The new proposal bars the online publication of a "false or deceptive statement designed to influence the vote." Bye-bye online news. On the flip side, this legislation would probably outlaw lawmakers' and candidates' online speech, too.

Barack Obama did more damage to his party than any other political leader since World War II. And Obama did this despite enjoying eight years of nonstop accolades from a fawning press.

"In an age of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act".George Clooney was honored with the prestigious César d’Honneur Award for his services to film (?) last night in France. “Let me take this opportunity to bash you with this blunt instrument I’ve just been awarded.”Like all good little actors these days he used the opportunity to bash the new American President, telling the adoring fans that “love trumps hate; courage trumps fear.” Clever, and spoken like the true college dropout intellectual and Hollywood elitist he is; a man untouched by the crippling costs of Obamacare and oblivious...

Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather called President Trump a “threat to our democracy” after his actions Friday banning some media from a press gaggle. He authored a scathing note on his Facebook account and sent it out via Twitter Friday evening.(TWEET-AT-LINK) “The time for normalizing, dissembling, and explaining away Donald Trump has long since passed,” the post began. The barring of respected journalistic outlets from the White House briefing is so far beyond the norms and traditions that have governed this republic for generations, that they must be seen as a real and present threat to our democracy. These...

The White House blocked a number of news outlets from covering spokesman Sean Spicer’s question-and-answer session on Friday afternoon. Spicer decided to hold an off-camera “gaggle” with reporters inside his West Wing office instead of the traditional on-camera briefing in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room. Among the outlets not permitted to cover the gaggle were news organizations President Trump has singled out for criticism, including CNN. ADVERTISEMENT The New York Times, The Hill, Politico, BuzzFeed, the Daily Mail, BBC, the Los Angeles Times and the New York Daily News were among the other news organizations not permitted to...

What happens when a prolific progressive Huffington Post contributor deviates from the narrative and publishes an article admitting Donald Trump was correct about something? HuffPo deletes the article and bans the guy, of course! Norwegian journalist, author, and world traveler René Zografos had the audacity to suggest that Donald Trump was telling the truth about Sweden's ongoing nightmare related to the violent tidal wave of predominantly North African refugees. Zografos wrote: "It’s well known for Scandinavians and other Europeans that liberal immigration comes with drugs, rapes, gang wars, robbery and violence. Additional to that we see the respective nations cultures...

Shortly after President Donald Trump vowed to “do something” about the “cunning” media who he once again called “the enemy” of the American people, CNN announced on air it had been barred from today’s White House briefing. CNN reports New York Times, Los Angles Times, and Politico also were told they were not on the White House list, for today’s off-camera briefing. Breitbart, Fox News, Washington Times, and One America News Network were among those given entry, CNN reported. Today’s off-camera gaggle is distinct from the on-camera White House Press Briefing led by Press Secretary Sean Spicer, which is not...

Published on Feb 19, 2017 VL EXCLUSIVE - A man we have been following, personally, for years now, who we consider to be brilliant, honest and a leader in this country – Robert David Steele, just talked to us about pedo-gate, Comet Ping Pong, the NSA, the FBI, the CIA, Zionism, the Rothchilds, Soros, 9/11, the electoral reform, the shadow government, and his thoughts on President Trump and what he needs to do to be the greatest President in modern history! He asks us to “light up the internet” urging President Trump to NOT choose a National Security Advisor, but...

This week I watched a press conference with President Donald Trump and a room full of the international press corps, and as one who has been watching presidential press conferences for the better part of my 80 years, I'll have to say that I've never seen anything like it. First of all, Trump totally controlled the event from start to finish, called out media outlets for what he considered dishonest coverage, refuted stories, networks and reporters, admonishing them to be honest in their coverage and just report the news instead of coloring it. It seems most politicians fear the media,...

I guess you could call this a win for the Trump White House. From Fox News: By a slim 45-42 percent margin, more voters say they trust the Trump administration to “tell the public the truth” than the reporters who cover the White House. Ten percent say neither… There are the expected partisan differences. Eight in 10 Republicans (81 percent) trust the Trump administration more to tell the truth, while roughly the same portion of Democrats trust the media (79 percent). Independents are twice as likely to put their faith in Trump as the press (52-26 percent), while 16 percent...
