Children raised in single-parent households in the U.S. are far more likely to live in poverty than children with both parents present, according to Census figures released Monday. As a result, far more black and Hispanic children are raised in poverty than white kids. The jail door was shut for a Plantation man on Monday after his third arrest in seven days. Sterling Sharpe, 27, was arrested July 9, then released from jail. He was re-arrested Friday and again was freed. His third arrest was for allegedly breaking into a Sunrise woman's unoccupied home Sunday, police said. "I'm just appalled at this," said LaShawn Tukes, 46, the burglary victim. "If the justice system were more stringent, he wouldn't be getting in and out like that."
