FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — A 4-year-old boy is recovering Tuesday after being mauled by his family pit bull Monday afternoon, officials said. According to Fontana Police, around 3:30 p.m. Monday, officers were sent to the 7600 block of Honeysuckle Street for reports of shots fired, and a dog had been shot after attacking a child. KFC Corp. says it's investigating allegations that an employee in Jackson, Mississippi, asked a 3-year-old to leave a restaurant because her facial injuries frightened other patrons. A woman says her American bulldog and two puppies were bitten by a diamondback rattlesnake near the steps of her rural central Florida home. One of the puppies died following the Tuesday afternoon attack. A cat came to her best friend's rescue Tuesday when the young boy was attacked in his driveway in Southwest Bakersfield. The surveillance video shows the boy playing on his bicycle when a dog sneaks up behind him and grabs his leg. The family's cat, named Tara, rushes the attacking dog and chased it away. A 4-year old boy was mauled to death by pit bulls Wednesday afternoon while playing outside in a friend’s yard. The victim, who was not immediately identified, was with his 24-year-old mother visiting a friend on Edwardsville Road at about 4 p.m. when the attack occurred. According to Delaware State police, the boy’s mother, who is several months pregnant, was inside of the house while the 4-year-old played in the yard near her friends three pit bulls. According to state police, the boy had been around the dogs several times in the past.
