  • Note to the GOP - and Trump - re recounts (vanity)

So Jill Stein is demanding three state recounts, for "election integrity" as she says. Odd that she is only targeting states where Trump won by razor-thin margins. Why not also recount New Hampshire (Hillary by 0.4%)? I hope that the next time something like this happens, the GOP immediately demands a recount as well, but of those states the Democrats barely won.

THE GREEN Party-backed push for a recount of Pennsylvania's presidential election results will get its day in federal court. U.S. District Judge Paul S. Diamond on Tuesday ordered a Friday hearing to consider the party's request for a forensic examination of voting machines used across the state and a statewide recount of paper ballots. The proceeding will take place just days before the Dec. 13 federal deadline for the state to certify its votes, setting up a tight window for the examination should the judge allow it to proceed. "This is a step toward ensuring that voters of this state...

Simply put, the numbers are stunning: In Allegheny County, Pa., alone, estimates of “totally technically recoverable reserves” of shale natural gas exceed 150 trillion cubic feet. “This is nearly five times the minimum required for classification as a super-giant gas field and enough natural gas to provide all of America’s needs for more than five years,” recently wrote Gregory Wrightstone and Justin Skaggs in Oil and Gas Investor. Wrightstone, a petroleum geologist/consultant at Wrightstone Energy Consulting in Allison Park, Pa., and Skaggs, a geologist with Pin Oak Energy Partners in Akron, Ohio, say at today’s depressed market prices, “the...

  • PA: Governor Wolf Signs Hunting Reform for Semi-Autos, Air Guns

Arizona – -(Ammoland.com)- A number of states have unusual rules about what may be used for hunting and what may not. Pennsylvania had a law that forbid hunting with semi-automatic rifles and pistols. They did not forbid hunting with semi-auto shotguns. The hunter shown in the image from the Game Commission web site is using a semi-auto shotgun, probably to hunt deer, as she is wearing hunter orange and the shotgun has sights on it. This inconsistency helped in moving the reform forward. Laws are harder to reform than rules promulgated in hunting regulations.  The Pennsylvania government changed this law to...

Pennsylvania’s largest two counties completed their presidential vote recounts Monday and Hillary Clinton only picked up five votes. According to an election official in Philadelphia County, the largest county in the state, Clinton netted five votes after its final computations. Another official from the board of elections in the second largest county — Allegheny, where the city of Pittsburgh is located — told The Daily Caller that no numbers changed after their second recount was completed. PITTSBURGH - Election officials in Allegheny County finished recanvassing dozens of voting districts Monday, with no changes in the election results. A recanvass is not the same as a recount. Elections Division staff compared the final results from the voting machines in 52 districts to the results on the flash memory cards.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Green Party-backed lawyers want a federal judge to order a recount of Pennsylvania's Nov. 8 presidential election result, won by Republican Donald Trump. A federal lawsuit filed Monday morning in Philadelphia names state elections officials and says Pennsylvania's barriers to a recount violate voters' constitutional rights.

Pennsylvania Republicans are livid with the secretary of state´s office for releasing not only the names of the state´s electors, but also their home addresses and phone numbers. The GOP is calling the move "unprecedented." Going by recent history, it certainly is. Previously, the secretary of state´s office would release the names and home counties of electors. Now all of a sudden, Democratic Secretary of State Pedro A. Cortés discovered a way to release the personal contact information of electors, despite the fact the state had never done so previously. Cortés´s office claims they were just following the law on
  • Green Party Sad They Have To Pay For a Recount Pennsylvania

    12/05/2016 9:34:11 AM PST · by tekrat · 34 replies
Whats going on in Pennsylvania is that there is a certain margin of votes that have to be reached before a recount is triggered. Pennsylvania has not hit that level. So for there to be a recount the Green Party would have to put up a $1,000,000 dollars bond for the labor in the event the election results do not change for the winning candidate. The Green Party does not want to put up the money. So they're filing a federal lawsuit to try to force a recount for free.  Even though it cost them to file the suit. In...

Meanwhile, out-of-money Stein hopes federal courts will order equally pointless Pennsylvania recount At this rate, maybe we should have a recount in California too. Trump might pick up an extra 55 electoral votes. Maybe he won the meaningless national popular vote after all. The Wisconsin recount is not exactly yielding the results the Hillary campaign was hoping for when they hid in the corner and sent errand girl Jill Stein to go complain to the lunch room monitor. It turns out the only thing changing is the side of Trump’s margin of victory. It’s growing

The difference is 47,755 votes. This is what is now reported after absentee ballots were counted as reported on Friday, December 2nd. The Green Party shifted strategy in its recount effort Saturday, saying it will pursue a statewide effort in Pennsylvania in federal rather than state court. The move came hours after the Green Party dropped its state court case seeking a recount in the battleground state, which narrowly voted for Trump. The lead attorney for the Jill Stein-led recount effort later said that the state court is not able to tackle what he called "pervasive" problems. "Make no mistake — the Stein campaign will continue to fight for a statewide recount in Pennsylvania," attorney Jonathan Abady said in the statement late...
  • Hillary Clinton Catches Up by 23,700 Votes in Pennsylvania - Before Recount Even Begins

With recount effort now underway in the three razor-tight swing states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, it turns out Hillary Clinton has already moved closer to winning those states than had originally been announced. In the past two weeks Michigan and Wisconsin have both voluntarily revised the size of Donald Trump’s “win” downward by thousands of votes each. And now Pennsylvania has shrunk the size of Trump’s win by tens of thousands of votes. It’s important to understand that these revisions have been made by the states before the recounts even got underway. These shifts in the vote totals have...

US Green Party candidate Jill Stein said her campaign will appeal to a federal court on Monday to seek a state-wide vote recount in Pennsylvania, hours after dropping a lawsuit in a local court, saying the cost of the lawsuit was too high. HARRISBURG, Pa. — Green Party-backed voters dropped a court case Saturday night that had sought to force a statewide recount of Pennsylvania’s Nov. 8 presidential election, won by Republican Donald Trump, in what Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein had framed as an effort to explore whether voting machines and systems had been hacked and the election result manipulated. But later Saturday night, the party announced it’ll go to federal court instead. A statement from the lead lawyer for the recount campaign says it’ll seek an emergency federal court order for the recount. It says barriers to a recount in...
