NC Representative Fires Back At PayPal Hypocrisy By: Susan Wright April 10th, 2016 Last week saw the state’s Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest respond to PayPal’s announcement that they were suspending plans to expand their business in North Carolina, in objection to the recently passed bathroom bill. Lt. Governor Forest posted a photo of PayPal’s global operations center, which has clearly defined, gender-specific bathrooms. The cultural Marxist crowd really are all about “Do as I say, not as I do.” Not to be outdone, NC Representative Robert Pittenger issues this statement: “PayPal does business in 25 countries where homosexual behavior is...

The Hypocrisy of PayPal By Julio Severo PayPal has vowed to discontinue the expansion of its services in North Carolina after its governor passed a law to protect women and children against homosexual predators by not allowing biological men to use women’s restrooms and locker rooms. In answer to the PayPal boycott, on Facebook Franklin Graham, son of the legendary evangelist Billy Graham, said, “PayPal gets the hypocrite of the year award!… PayPal operates in countries including Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and Yemen for Pete’s sake. Just last month PayPal announced they would be expanding in Cuba, a country in which...

In an act of extraordinary hypocrisy, PayPal, which last month announced its plans to expand into Cuba, has decided not to expand into North Carolina because the state is determined to keep its public bathrooms and locker rooms safe. PayPal has now sent a loud and clear message to America: The common sense values of conservative Americans should be scorned; the destructive values of Cuban Communists, including decades of human rights abuses that continue to this hour, should be embraced.I say it’s time to send a message to PayPal. Perhaps we can communicate most clearly to them through our money?According...

PayPal sits on remittances for up to a month, money they use as Float on the back of small merchants and businesses. PayPal is a nuisance. Don't use PayPal. Sorry to WCPE listeners who aren't leftists, your station is great, North Carolina is a great state despite UNC Raleigh-Durham. Take back your country.

Last month, North Carolina became the first state to enact a measure requiring people to use bathrooms or locker rooms in schools and other public facilities that match the gender on their birth certificate rather than their gender identity. The law, which overturned a Charlotte city ordinance, was widely interpreted as an attack on LGBT rights. State lawmakers also voted to prohibit local governments from enacting anti-discrimination protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

The Rev. Franklin Graham has strongly condemned PayPal after the organization announced it is cancelling plans to bring more than 400 jobs and a $3.6 million investment into Charlotte, North Carolina with its new operation center, because of an objection to the state's recently passed transgender law. The ordinance, signed by Gov. Pat McCrory, limits the use of bathrooms, locker rooms and showers to persons of the same biological sex, according to NBC. "The legislation invalidates protections of the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender citizens and denies these members of our community equal rights under the law," PayPal...

It is happening again. They've got it down to a science and it works every time, so why should they stop? As much as you’re paying attention to what actually happened - PayPal hops on the corporate self-righteousness/pandering bandwagon by welching on a commitment it made to expand in the state mere weeks ago - pay attention to how USA Today approaches the story, particularly the words it uses: PayPal is canceling its planned North Carolina expansion due to the state’s new anti-gay law, just two weeks after making the initial announcement.

PayPal Drops Plan to Build $3.6M Facility in NC Because of Controversial Law [LGBT Blackmail!] By Susanna Kim Apr 5, 2016, PayPal announced today that it's withdrawing plans to build a new facility in North Carolina, the first major corporation to pull out of the state as a result of what some call an "anti-LGBT" law there. Two weeks ago, California-based PayPal announced plans to open a $3.6 million global operations center in Charlotte that would have created more than 400 jobs. But today, PayPal CEO Dan Schulman said the company is seeking another location. "The new law perpetuates discrimination...

NC Lt. Governor Dan Forest has issued a response to PayPal’s decision to not expand in Charlotte over HB2. The expansion would have created 400 new jobs. Corporations have expressed disappointment over the law and the NCAA vowed to monitor what North Carolina does next now that the state has banned any local government measures protecting people from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. “If our action in keeping men out of women’s bathrooms and showers protected the life of just one child or one woman from being molested or assaulted, then it was worth it....

PayPal is withdrawing plans to open an operations center in Charlotte, N.C., in reaction to the state overturning a local law that would have let transgender people use public bathrooms that match their gender identities. Last week, North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory signed House Bill 2, which prevents cities from protecting gay and bisexual people from discrimination, and specifically restricts transgender individuals' rights to use restrooms and other facilities that don’t match their "biological sex." As PayPal CEO Dan Schulman wrote in a statement: "The new law perpetuates discrimination and it violates the values and principles that are at the...

Corporations expressed disappointment Thursday and the NCAA vowed to monitor what North Carolina does next now that the state has banned any local government measures protecting people from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. American Airlines, which operates its second-largest hub in Charlotte; IBM and Biogen, which have facilities in the state’s Research Triangle; and payments processor PayPal, which had announced plans to hire 400 people in Charlotte only last week, were among major employers condemning the new law. The legislature called a special session Wednesday to void a Charlotte ordinance that would have enabled transgender...

The biggest problem with Rep. Paul's (R-Texas) latest comments on immigration is that they are NOT just some ad hoc thoughts tossed off carelessly at some speaking event. These are engraved in a brand new book. Until the release of the book, Liberty Defined, Dr. Paul had a mixed record in Congress and the fact that he had taken the NumbersUSA "No Amnesty" pledge at the end of his Presidential campaign in 2008. That had earned him a C-minus on our 2012 Presidential Hopefuls Immigration Stances Report Card. Not impressive, but the third best (behind Rep. Bachman with a B-minus...

Pointing to the effects of "horrible" super-PACs, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Sunday said America needs to come up with a solution to keep big money out of politics. "Well, I think you need it, because I think PACs are a horrible thing," Trump said on CNN's "State of the Union" when asked if he would pursue campaign finance reform. The billionaire businessman, who said he is self-financing his campaign, said the wall separating super-PACs and candidates running for public office is illusory. "First of all, everyone's dealing with their PAC. You know, it's supposed to be like this...

Tech entrepreneur Scott Banister has long been an ally to the liberty movement. The angel investor, IronPort founder, and PayPal board member donated $3 million to a Rand Paul supporting Super PAC, and has been a vocal supporter of the libertarian Republican. Now that Rand Paul is out of the presidential race, Banister has thrown his support behind Ted Cruz. Cruz is a self-described constitutional conservative who earned the endorsements of both Rand and Ron Paul in his 2012 Texas Senate race. Tea Party-backed Senate candidate Ted Cruz points with pride to the army of small conservative donors supporting him. But his largest longtime contributor is a gay billionaire who supports same-sex marriage and marijuana legalization, campaign finance filings show. Peter Thiel, a German-born hedge fund manager and founder of the online payment system PayPal, gave Cruz $251,000 in 2009 for his aborted run for attorney general. The money represented 19 percent of the total raised for that campaign, which Cruz ended after Attorney General Greg Abbott decided to run for re-election. Thiel’s political and financial support for gay rights and legal...

I put some furniture up for sale on Craigslist. Now I have someone texting me from Vermont (I live in Georgia) wanting to buy sight unseen, claiming to be a flight attendant who is away most of the time but will send a pickup agent as soon as we complete the transaction via PayPal. It seems pretty obvious that it's a scam but it must work some percentage of the time because they keep trying it.

My PayPal account was hacked on Christmas Eve. The perpetrator tried to further stir up trouble by sending my PayPal funds to a hacker gang tied to the jihadist militant group ISIS. Although the intruder failed to siphon any funds, the successful takeover of the account speaks volumes about why most organizations, including many financial institutions — remain woefully behind the times in authenticating their customers and staying ahead of identity thieves.

Billionaire Facebook investor's anti-immigrant heresy By Owen Thomas, 11:20 AM on Fri Nov 14 2008, 4,806 views Insiders at Clarium Capital, the $5.3 billion hedge fund run by Facebook investor Peter Thiel, are buzzing about their boss's $1 million donation to NumbersUSA, an anti-immigrant group. The donation is an open secret within Clarium, and it has enraged several staff members who joined Clarium because they believed Thiel shared their libertarian ideals. Videos of young couple posing as sex workers getting financial advice made possible by a generous handoutIn the world of far-right libertarian economics, altruism is considered a sin. However, that didn't stop billionaire ideologue Peter Thiel, who minted his fortune as a cofounder of PayPal and investor in Facebook, from giving "about $10,000" after being approached by provocateur James O'Keefe. Silicon Valley venture capitalist Peter Thiel is famously outspoken and sharp-tongued, and on CNBC on Wednesday he did not disappoint. In a "Squawk Box" interview.Thiel trashed Twitter, Uber and Apple, among others, "Twitter is hard to evaluate. They have a lot of potential. It's a horribly mismanaged company—probably a lot of pot-smoking going on there. But it's such a solid franchise it may even work with all that," the co-founder of PayPal and early Facebook investor said.
