Harry Reid today introduced legislation that would put new restrictions on purchase and ownership of pressure cookers. The legislation would require background checks and a 10 day waiting period for all purchases of these devices, including purchases of used pressure cookers at garage sales and pressure cooker fairs. Anyone whose name appears on the newly created register of the mentally ill would be ineligible to purchase the devices.
