CLEVELAND (CBSNewYork/AP) — Police arrested 17 people Wednesday after a melee broke out during a flag-burning in the streets outside the Republican National Convention.(snip)Among those arrested was Gregory “Joey” Johnson, whose torching of the flag at a GOP convention three decades ago led to the landmark 1989 U.S. Supreme Court decision that said flag-burning is speech protected by the First Amendment.Moments after the flag was set on fire, officers charged in to put it out with an extinguishing spray that some in the crowd thought was pepper spray because of similarities in the design of the canisters and the eye...

When will it end? Video catches Pokemon Go player driving his SUV into a parked police car In a few years, or even in a few months, we’ll probably see Psychologists examine and study the unprecedented level of gaming addiction we’ve seen from Pokemon Go players over the past few weeks. If you thought Candy Crush was bad, well, Pokemon Go takes things to an entirely new level. In recent weeks, we’ve seen stories of Pokemon Go players crashing cars, getting shot at, falling off cliffs, aimlessly wandering into traffic and even creating Walking Dead-style stampedes in cities across the...

The love fest between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders lasted about as long as it took to tear down the stage at their “unity” rally on Monday. Sanders gave a speech to the League of United Latin American Citizens in Washington, DC one day after his appearance with Clinton, and he mentioned her a total of zero times. That’s zero — with a “Z.” It wasn’t like he didn’t have time to say “Hillary Clinton.” He had 23 whole minutes. He has apparently moved on. Watch...

Sheila Jackson Lee Thinks the Constitution is 400 Years Old It isn't BY: Washington Free Beacon Staff March 12, 2014 4:08 pm VIDEORep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D., Texas) declared the U.S. Constitution to be 400 years old Wednesday on the House floor, which would mean it was signed in 1614. “Maybe I should offer a good thanks to the distinguished members of the majority, the Republicans, my chairman and others, for giving us an opportunity to have a deliberative constitutional discussion that reinforces the sanctity of this nation and how well it is that we have lasted some 400 years,...

The Republicans introduced (and passed) a bill that would require the President of the United States to enforce laws as they are written. Republican Trey Gowdy summarized the sentiment behind the bill nicely when he explained that Congress passes laws… Not suggestions. The bill is in response to the President’s most recent unilateral changes to Obamacare. But, the fact that it takes a literal “act of Congress” to make the President do his job, is not really the point of this article. I’m afraid it is far more basic than that. Representative Sheila Jackson, a Democrat from Texas (yes…...

DALLAS — Fire officials say more than 30 people attending a Tony Robbins event in Dallas have been treated for burns after the motivational speaker encouraged them to walk on hot coals. The U.S. Air Force has lost records concerning 100,000 investigations into everything from workplace disputes to fraud. A database that hosts files from the Air Force’s inspector general and legislative liaison divisions became corrupted last month, destroying data created between 2004 and now, service officials said. Neither the Air Force nor Lockheed Martin, the defense firm that runs the database, could say why it became corrupted or whether they’ll be able to recover the information. Lockheed tried to recover the information for two weeks before notifying the Air Force, according to a service statement. The Air Force has begun asking...

Video;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ABh3tBFTMo Last week in San Jose, California, supporters of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump found themselves surrounded by violent far-left protesters, most of whom were apparently supporters of Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders. Several Trump supporters were assaulted amid ugly scenes - but apparently they weren't the only ones "feeling the Bern." In fact, video footage from the day shows how at one point, several Bernie supporters apparently mistook each other for Trump fans, and promptly began a violent brawl - before realizing they were all on the same side. In a somewhat comical scene, as other Sanders supporters...

Uruguayan players stood dumbfounded as Chile’s national anthem was played ahead of Sunday’s clash with Mexico, prompting an apology for Copa America Centenario organizers. As the two sides prepared to begin Sunday’s match, both Mexico and Uruguay stood side by side for their respective national anthems. Mexico’s portion went without a hitch, but Uruguay was stunned as Chile’s national anthem played over the loud speakers.

Like many recent college grads, Rep. Elijah Cummings' (D-MD) daughter Adia sought to earn some extra cash by driving for Lyft, a ridesharing service. After someone posted a picture of the car on Popville, Cummings apologized for his daughter's use of the plates. He then said that he would swap out the plate and that the car was not his official vehicle.Per the House of Representative rules, the plates are "only for the use of the Member and spouse, as well as...

WASHINGTON – Though the Homeland Security Department has not terminated a high-ranking department official accused of resume fraud, sources say she's been denied the security clearance she needs to perform her job. Laura Callahan, the department's deputy chief information officer, was placed on paid leave in June while officials investigate her academic credentials. The advanced degrees she lists on her resume are from a diploma mill. Callahan's assistant, Jim Shepard, says she is still out on leave and has not been fired. However, sources say she was denied Top Secret clearance and is appealing the decision. Callahan's lawyer did not...

While the State Department’s own internal probe found former Secretary Hillary Clinton violated federal recordkeeping laws, it’s not the first time she and her top aides shielded her e-mail from public disclosure while serving in a government position. As first lady, Hillary was embroiled in another scheme to bury sensitive White House e-mails, known internally as “Project X.” In 1999, as investigators looked into Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate and other scandals involving the then-first lady, it was discovered that more than 1 million subpoenaed e-mails were mysteriously “lost” due to a “glitch” in a West Wing computer server. The massive hole...

Glenn Beck admitted that he’s been wrong every step of the way about Donald Trump this presidential election cycle. Beck went on CNN to discuss a possible jump aboard Trump’s candidacy, despite calling him a “pathological narcissistic sociopath.” He told host Alisyn Camerota that “Unlike some politicians I say what I mean and mean what I say.” “I’m not suddenly in love with Donald Trump or a supporter of Donald Trump,” Beck said, while also saying that he’s not endorsing anyone in the race. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Tx was the first politician he had ever endorsed. “I will tell you...
