A state lawmaker from New York City has authored a bill that would end riflery, trap shooting and archery as a sport in public schools. Assemblywoman Linda B. Rosenthal, a Democrat who represents the 67th Assembly District in western Manhattan, introduced the bill on April 20. At this point, there is no co-sponsor for it in the state Senate. The bill, A10428, which was sent to the Assembly's Education Committee, would amend the state's Education Law and calls for the "prohibition of marksmanship and/or shooting programs in public schools" - a change that "shall take effect immediately."

For whoever called the cops after they confused an innocent little trash panda for a killing machine. Early Thursday morning, a New York City neighborhood went on red alert after someone called the cops to report a tiger was roaming the streets of Washington Heights, NBC New York reports. A news chopper descended on the neighborhood frantically looking for the fanged beast, while reporters and police scrambled to track it down on the ground. n the United States, politicians are not supposed to be able to prevent the opposition from meeting or speaking. When Progressives dominated the mass media, the left celebrated the First Amendment.  In 1963, the Harvard-Radcliff Democratic Club invited George Wallace to speak, and there were no protests or threats of violence.  Leftists were all for free speech and rights of an assembly when they had little opposition in organs of mass media. Times have changed. The Progressives no longer have an effective monopoly in the media. Now, heavier-handed tactics are resorted to. Democrat politicians in New York pressured a Staten...

"Joseph Percoco was found guilty of taking over $300,000 in cash bribes by selling something priceless that was not his to sell – the sacred obligation to honestly and faithfully serve the citizens of New York," Manhattan...

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — With a pivotal local election looming in the fall, the Republican-controlled Nassau County Legislature recently approved new district lines that could help the party secure at least two more seats. A local Republican club has increased its campaign chest tenfold over the last two years, bringing in individual contributions of tens of thousands of dollars from a family paving company, a real estate developer and other donors with business before the county, according to disclosure records. And if past elections are any guide, the party can also turn for campaign help to workers from the county’s special...
