CRUZ said it is his "hope" that the Republicans nominate a conservative, SIGNALING THAT THE NOMINEE HAS NOT BEEN DECIDED. "What I hope is that we have a Republican nominee that will actually defend conservative principles," Cruz said.

Cruz ... is still working to elect delegates, "even though Donald has the delegates to get the nomination." "One of the reasons that we are continuing to work to elect conservatives to be delegates, ... we intend to do everything we can to fight for conservative principles to prevent Washington forces from watering down the platform."....

Yikes. I’m probably as surprised as anyone else to hear myself saying it, but the producers might want to start cranking up the music and offer a subtle hint to Mitt Romney that it’s time to get off the stage. We’re busy getting ready for the convention in Cleveland and the pieces are pretty much set up on the board, yet it seems that the winner of the 2012 GOP primary can’t bring himself to step back and let somebody else get on message. This pattern of behavior was on display yet again this week when Mitt let everyone know...

Bernie Sanders says it would be a "terrible idea" for Democrats to recruit Vice President Joe Biden to run for president if Hillary Clinton is forced out of the race. "I think that would be a terrible, terrible idea," Sanders said Friday in an interview with The Young Turks, a pro-Sanders online news show. "That would say to the millions of people who have supported us, that have worked with us, that would say all of your energy, all of your votes, all of your beliefs are irrelevant. We're going to bring in someone else," Sanders said. "I happen to...

If you’re Donald Trump, you can’t buy publicity like this from his enemies in San Diego yesterday: As hundreds of protesters outside his rally here Friday afternoon chanted obscenities, waved Mexican flags and clashed with police, Donald Trump reveled on stage in the drama his candidacy has created. More: One poster referenced Trump’s wife, who immigrated to the United States from Slovenia: “The Art of the Deal. Deport Melania. Legalize 11 million.” Another: “Trump, Shame of America.” Another: “Jesus would not vote for Trump.” And: “Racist, go home.” As the rally progressed inside, a few protesters — including two women...

I was blown away at Walmart today when I came upon a Trump coloring book. Has anyone else seen it? It was quite amazing. It has Trump in many famous renderings such as him as The Statue of Liberty, Abe Lincoln, his head on Mt. Rushmore, superman, and many other famous characters. The book was actually a little scary. It reminded me of something that the anti Christ might have disseminated about himself, but it was a lot of fun. Too bad Obama, this wasn't and couldn't have been about you. You have been Trumped!

Donald Trump’s best ally in winning over skeptical Republicans is turning out to be Hillary Clinton. Having overcome a multimillion-dollar “Never Trump” campaign aimed at blocking him from the Republican nomination, he’s now benefiting from a wave of GOP donors, party leaders, voters and conservative groups that are uniting under a new banner: “Never Hillary.” “Nothing unites Republicans better than a Clinton,” says Scott Reed, a political strategist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce who has advised previous GOP campaigns. While Reed says there remain “many unknowns” about Trump, he adds that “the knowns about Hillary are very powerful motivators...

Saturday, May 28, 2016 09:00 PM +0900 This is an American tragedy: Republicans must step up and defeat Donald Trump It's time for honest Republicans to speak out against this dangerous, unprincipled vulgarian. Who has the courage? Seán Patrick Donlan As a Democrat, part of me delights in the opportunities provided by the coming elections. With Trump at the top of the Republican ticket, Democrats might – just might – find themselves not only with the presidency, but in control of the Senate. But the state of our politics is so grave that it’s difficult to derive much joy out...

Donald Trump's campaign is considering booking one of Cleveland's big sports venues for his acceptance speech in July, two GOP sources familiar with the planning of the upcoming GOP convention say. The sources said First Energy Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns, and Progressive Field, home of the city's Indians baseball team, are the two sites under consideration for Trump's acceptance speech on the final night of the convention. One of the sources said the campaign is closing in on signing a contract for use of one of the two venues, with the football stadium currently the favorite for Trump's...

Mark Levin still has serious problems with Donald Trump, and today he pointed to something odd Trump’s been doing recently that could be a turn-off for conservatives. Trump has been throwing compliments Bernie Sanders‘ way recently, saying he has some good ideas and the Democrats are being unfair to him and he should consider going third party, while at a rally yesterday Trump went back to trashing “Lyin’ Ted” Cruz. And that really pissed off Levin, who wondered, “Does he talk about Bernie Sanders this way? He treats Bernie Sanders with an odd respect.” He mocked the way Trump fans...

Hillary Clinton’s email headache is about to get even worse. A scathing inspector general’s report this week was just the first in what is likely to be a series of official actions related to her private server stemming from the FBI, a federal courthouse and Capitol Hill. Clinton’s presidential campaign has failed to quiet the furor over the issue, which has dogged her for more than a year. In the next few weeks — just as the likely Democratic presidential nominee hopes to pivot towards a general election — it will face its toughest scrutiny yet. “All of that feeds...

Towards the end of April and into early May, several news outlets ran reports (citing anonymous sources) that the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail was expected to be wrapped in the coming weeks. However, a few weeks later, FBI Director James Comey met with reporters and indicated the Bureau had no set timeline for completing the investigation. He even stated that the upcoming political conventions and general election would not factor into when the investigation would be completed. So, lets take Comey at his word and imagine this scenario: It is Friday, January 20, 2017...

For the second time this week, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s senior policy adviser, Stephen Miller, read straight from the pages of Peter Schweizer’s book, Clinton Cash, at a Trump campaign rally. Miller told the packed crowd that Bill and Hillary Clinton’s long-established global scheme of trading political favors for financial kickbacks is “documented in Clinton Cash—which everybody should get a copy of–and it documents a simple premiss of how government operates under Hillary.” “Give money to Bill, get favors from Hill,” Miller said, while holding up a copy of the book and laughing along with the cheering crowd...

Democrats could hardly believe their good fortune last month when it became clear that Hillary Clinton was headed to a general election showdown with Donald J. Trump. Mr. Trump carried so much baggage and had insulted so many voting blocs that some Clinton supporters began to imagine a landslide. But early optimism that this would be an easy race is evaporating. In the corridors of Congress, on airplane shuttles between New York and Washington, at donor gatherings and on conference calls, anxiety is spreading through the Democratic Party that Mrs. Clinton is struggling to find her footing.

Apparently Telemundo believes it is perfectly alright to stage events and film them as authentic. In fact, as you can see in the video below, the Telemundo cameraman admits to filmmaker Andrew Marcus of Rebel Marcus that he is indeed staging the event. In this case, two young anti-Trump protesters in San Diego yesterday were holding the Mexican flag upside down and the Telemundo cameraman gave them directions on the proper way to hold the flag. This is followed by a really nasty attitude by one of the protesters including spitting in the direction of Marcus. But, hey, that behavior is understandable...

The brother of a slain Border Patrol agent says Donald Trump has promised answers about the Operation Fast and Furious “gunwalking” program leading to Brian Terry’s death. Kent Terry met with Trump, and says the presumptive Republican nominee will use his authority to act if he’s elected president, Terry said in a Twitter post Tuesday.“Mr. Trump said ‘It’s a shame Fast and Furious started and shame on them for what they are doing about it,” Terry explained to this column, referring to an event at a community college in Michigan (see photo). “When I become president I will open the books...

Trump vows to cancel the Paris climate deal, stop funding UN global warming programs and save the coal industry. Gotta love these plans. No wonder the big-government fans are apoplectic over Donald Trump as he paints targets on their most sacred cows. In Australia Bill Shorten, potential Prime Minister, called Trump: “Barking Mad.” Shorten, showing his diplomatic talent, was burning goodwill with a potential US president and 45% of voters in the largest economy in the world and our most important strategic ally. Below, the Trump plans this week: to use cheap energy; to stop trying to change the weather,...

Trump’s Climate Change Denial Is Already Complicating the Paris Climate Deal If Donald Trump wins and pulls the U.S. out of its climate change commitments, some countries wonder, why should they keep their own? Donald Trump first shared his analysis of the climate crisis in a now infamous 2012 tweet-rant: “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive,” he claimed. The Republican presidential hopeful has since dialed back the rhetoric, calling that earlier claim a joke. But — as in other areas of critical domestic and international concern —...

For a long time I've been busting on Marco Rubio people, and the class -- Upper Middle Class College-Educated -- so enthused about him.* I've said this before, but this class, in particular, is extremely bully-able. Their class itself is is the product of liberal social cues and mores. College being one of the main prerequisites of class entry (other prerequisites: That your parents are also college-educated), this class is particularly sensitive to threats to their social status by liberals.** Any class whose credentials are monitored by a progressive/archliberal dominant cadre is going to be easily whipsawed into conformity...

Longtime valley Republican stalwarts who have voted for every GOP nominee for decades say they can’t do it this year.
