Conservative firebrand Ann Coulter used her signature sarcasm on Twitter to proclaim herself and Donald Trump right about America’s illegal immigration problem after a young woman was killed by an illegal who had been deported five times. Her comments came after reports on Friday that the suspect, Francisco Sanchez, had already been deported five times before he shot and killed Kathryn Steinle, 32, as she walked along the San Francisco waterfront with her father Wednesday. San Francisco authorities ignored requests from immigration officials to turn him over after they arrested him months ago on drug charges and subsequently released him.

Slowly but surely, some of Donald Trump‘s Republican rivals have come out to condemn his remarks about Mexican immigrant rapists and criminals. George Pataki got the ball rolling this week, and criticisms by Rick Perry, Marco Rubio, and others followed. But Ted Cruz––who defended Trump earlier this week––is still praising him. In a Meet the Press preview clip out tonight, Cruz told Chuck Todd,”I like Donald Trump. He’s bold, he’s brash.” He refused to get caught in a bout of Republican infighting. When Todd asked him if “rhetoric matters,” Cruz said, “I salute Donald Trump for focusing on the need...

A man has been arrested in the shooting death of a woman who was walking along San Francisco’s Embarcadero with her family Wednesday evening. Texas resident Francisco Sanchez had been detained as a person of interest south along the Embarcadero shortly after the shooting at Pier 14 after witnesses on the pier snapped his photo, which was quickly forwarded to officers investigating the killing.

An NBC Bay Area news crew was attacked early Thursday morning while reporting a story in a mugging that injured the photographer, whose camera gear was also stolen. A second station was also robbed of its gear. -excerpt- The brazen attack occurred just before 6 a.m. at Pier 14 in San Francisco, where the reporter and photographer – along with several other news stations – were covering a story about a woman who had been shot to death there the night before. -excerpt- As the two were about to go on air, a man pulled up to the curb in...

This week, a new CNN survey showed that despite the national outrage over the Confederate flag, a majority of Americans view it as “a symbol of Southern pride” rather than a “symbol of racism.” The poll results contrasted sharply with CNN’s editorial approach to the flag, which had been to inflame public opinion around the issue. Much the same is happening with Donald Trump, the billionaire Republican running for president: the media hate him, but he is surging in GOP polls. The left has a convenient, and false, explanation for all of this: America is racist, and the Republican Party...

NASCAR is the latest corporation to distance itself from Donald Trump. On the same day one of its top sponsors called on NASCAR to take a stance against Trump, the motorsports series said it will not hold its season-ending awards ceremony at the Trump National Doral Miami. "We looked at everything we saw coming down and what we heard from our sponsors and our partners and what we feel we should be doing, and that's what led us to the decision today," NASCAR spokesman David Higdon said Friday at Daytona International Speedway. Trump's spokesman, Hope Hicks, declined to comment to...

When Donald Trump announced for President, he made some strong statements about the immigration problems facing our nation. He said that Mexico was "bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists, and some, I assume, are good people." In essence, Trump noted that Mexico was not sending their scientists and scholars to America. In his speech, he mentioned the while immigrants are taking jobs in this country; corporations like Ford are setting up plants in Mexico. To deal with the crisis, Trump vowed to build a border fence and have Mexico pay for it. This kind of tough talk resonated with...

New York Times columnist David Brooks argued Donald Trump’s immigration comments were “culture war politics of the worst sort” on Friday’s “PBS NewsHour.”

Interesting that he went after Trump for what he said about Mexicans on the same day that he criticized the GOP more broadly for having given up on the black vote. Everyone expected him to run this time on his jobs record but yesterday’s comments were the biggest splash he’s made as a candidate so far.I don’t mean to be cynical about it — these are his heartfelt positions, I’m sure, and good for him — but his choice of topic is probably at least partly a function of his standing in the race. The top-tier candidates like Bush,...

The mainstream media is descending on The Donald like buzzards on carrion—and their instincts for a fresh kill are rarely wrong. But don’t discount Donald Trump. Erick Erickson offered sage advice for the tempestuous-tempered billionaire-cum-politician to stay on offense, but I expect that Trump will rebound very soon. The “stay on offense” advice works best for politicians, but Donald Trump isn’t one. He’s a unique personality that cuts through American culture like a chainsaw—rough, noisy, and with lots of flying pieces. Trump’s at his best when he’s talking, and fortunately for him, it’s probably his favorite pastime, other than writing...

"We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men." – George Orwell Despite all the gnashing of teeth from the Left over Donald Trump’s comments about illegal aliens and liberals’ deliberate attempts to distort what he said, his controversial comments about Mexico are absolutely correct. "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. …They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems to us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people." Despite attempts to...

Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has once again come in for a barrage of criticism as a result of his comments about immigration into the United States. This time Trump has latched onto the tragic murder of tourist Kate Steinle who was shot and killed Wednesday at Pier 14 in San Francisco. Trump used the announcement of his presidential campaign to brand Mexican immigrants as “Criminals, drug runners and rapists.” Trump’s comments have been widely criticized as xenophobic and have led to his being dropped by NBC and Nascar amongst others. Donald Trump has stirred up controversy in recent days for claiming “rapists” and “killers” are migrating over the United States’ southern border. Univision and NBC Universal cut ties with Trump this past week, refusing to air the “Miss Universe” pageant he partially owns as a result, and Macy’s announced Wednesday it was also discontinuing his clothing line. But Trump was right. Rapists are crossing over into the US southern border. And officials are finding rape trees. Women’s undergarments hang in a tree near the US border.Latina.com reported on this tragic development in 2009: “From beheading to kidnappings, there seems to...

Political correctness is a very serious affliction that has done incredible damage to our country. It will eventually destroy America if it is not pulled up by the roots and finally eradicated When Donald Trump announced for President, he made some strong statements about the immigration problems facing our nation. He said that Mexico was “bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.” In essence, Trump noted that Mexico was not sending their scientists and scholars to America. Right now, Donald Trump is like a black hole whose stupendous gravitational pull is attracting a lot of media attention and some of the voters associated with the Republican 2016 presidential race. Which of his rivals in particular is this hurting? After all, Mr. Trump’s poll numbers have risen sharply since he said that this time, he’s actually, positively running. Polling is a zero-sum game: His rise means other folks have fallen. Let’s look at the numbers and see which of Trump’s fellow candidates they are. ((snip)) Nationally, Trump’s jump into the fray has affected Marco Rubio the most, according...

Sen. Ted Cruz defended Donald Trump on immigration and called out “the Washington cartel†he says is ignoring the issue, in an interview to be broadcast Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.â€â€œI salute Donald Trump for focusing on the need to address illegal immigration,†Cruz said of his rival for the 2016 GOP nomination, adding that it “seems the favorite sport of the Washington media is to encourage some Republicans to attack other Republicans.â€â€œI’m not interested in Republican on Republican violence,†he told host Chuck Todd, adding that “bold … brash†Trump “has a colorful way of speaking.â€The Texas senator’s...

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)80% released a statement Friday night attacking rival Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for a statement made during his campaign announcement speech 16 days ago. Rubio’s statement reads: Trump’s comments are not just offensive and inaccurate, but also divisive. Our next president needs to be someone who brings Americans together – not someone who continues to divide. Our broken immigration system is something that needs to be solved, and comments like this move us further from – not closer to – a solution. We need leaders who offer serious solutions to secure our border and fix our...
