Dan Rather of CBS, Tom Brokaw of NBC, and Peter Jennings of ABC? Well, as you can see in this video, those glory years for the network news are long over. To illustrate this, on April 29, 2023 I offered $10 to people I met at the Ft. Lauderdale Swap Shop to name for me all three anchors of those same networks.

Dan Rather deserves more than a kick in the pants on his way out the door to a fly-fishing stream in West Texas. With Tom Brokaw's retirement just ahead of Rather's, this is the official end of an era, not just in television but in the cultural life of the nation.

Please post pics of the journalist who makes the news just that much nicer for you. They can be past/present, local/national/international, real or fictional. Of course they would like to be taken seriously as journalists first. Admittedly, I haven't watched ABC's "looser, hipper" World News NOW in ages. I'm not loose or hip enough to want my news in that goofy, biased format. But I've heard so much from the press in the meantime about how they've been unfairly maligned as big-haired fluff.
