Dear emerging markets fund manager: If you think the trade war is ending this year, I want my money back. China is returning to its subsidy playbook and plans on subsidizing companies hit by tariffs. The latest recipient is tech companies, according to an article in the South China Morning Post on Friday. State subsidies to favored industries were a key issue in trade negotiations. China has no interest in rolling them back. They're not even signaling a willingness to try. Any Memorial Day happy talk tweets by Trump over the weekend should be glossed over and ignored. We are...

We’ve already had a doozy of a shot & chaser from Rep. Adam Schiff when it comes to the subject of declassifying information related to the Russia investigation, and now the Speaker of the House has been spotted getting in on the act. In the first year of Trump’s presidency, Nancy Pelosi issued a challenge:
-
When President Trump announced the futility of attempting an infrastructure bill with Pelosi and Schumer as they simultaneously tried to impeach him, the president certainly knew he was going to issue a declassification memo within hours. The declassification directive to AG Bill Barr creates a dynamic ensuring Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer will align with the former intelligence officials and further attack the offices of the President and Attorney General; they have few options. Those who participated in the creation of Russia-Gate or Spy-Gate have few options except to manufacture a narrative shield and accuse the President of unethical, immoral...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler are at odds over how to address Democrat calls to impeach President Trump. This week, Nadler said he urged Pelosi to consider an impeachment inquiry just after Capitol Hill’s Memorial Day recess, but the house speaker voiced apprehension to the move.

The need for secrecy was so great that CIA Director John Brennan hand-delivered information from a critical informant close to Russian President Vladimir Putin in an envelope to President Barack Obama in August 2016. Now, one day after President Trump gave Attorney General William Barr "full and complete authority to declassify information" related to the origins of the federal investigation into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, the New York Times reports this source is in jeopardy. The declassification order, celebrated by GOP allies and derided by Democrats as a "plot to dirty up the intelligence community," could...

Colorado is trying to help tamp down the opioid crisis by allowing doctors to recommend medical marijuana for any condition meriting a painkiller prescription, The Denver Post reported. Gov. Jared Polis signed Senate Bill 13 on Thursday, and the new law is scheduled to go into effect on Aug. 2, after passing through Colorado's General Assembly. “This will substitute marijuana for an FDA-approved medication — something that’s unregulated for something that’s highly regulated,” Stephanie Stewart, a physician in Colorado, told the news outlet. Under Colorado law, medical marijuana can be recommended for patients struggling with cancer, glaucoma, HIV and AIDS,...

Lawyers for President Donald Trump have reached an agreement with the House Intelligence and Financial Services committees to hold off for now on enforcing the subpoenas for Trump's financial records from Deutsche Bank and Capital One, according to a court document and a source familiar with the agreement. Similar to a deal reached earlier this week with the House Oversight committee, the agreement allows for an expedited appeal schedule. "The parties have reached an agreement regarding compliance with and enforcement of the subpoenas during the pendency of Plaintiff's appeal," the court document filed Saturday reads.

For years, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol have said their facilities are overwhelmed and the system is severely broken. Politicians in Washington, D.C. have debated the issue, but one thing they can't debate is the cold hard facts. And the fact is we have people from around the world taking advantage of loopholes in our immigration system, a Border Patrol whistleblower told Townhall. Central American caravan riders have overwhelmed the Border Patrol since last fall when they began coming to the United States en masse. Mexico established a system to help the U.S. deal with the...

Sorry...this is two months old but I just heard of it today. Nancy Pelosi is marketing her image on shirts, totes, baby onesies, pins, notebooks and mugs as her being some kind of saint of shade something or other?? The story says: 'the proceeds for the official Pelosi merch go to her campaign coffers'.

The head of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is stepping down from his post next month per the request of President Trump, ... Cissna’s job was in jeopardy last month as the agency coped with a surge of migrants crossing the border and a new caravan assembling. But Republicans including Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa went to bat for Cissna, and he did not leave with former Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen.

1. Hunting Hunting was a hugely important skill for much of human history, but in light of the rise of cheap and readily available factory-farmed meat, hunting’s relationship to the food we actually eat has disappeared for the overwhelming majority of the population. If you grew up in a rural area, there’s a good chance you learned to shoot game at some point, but as much as many contemporary guys fantasize about being able to kill a wild animal and eat it (Mark Zuckerberg, anyone?), particularly if you live in a big city, there’s really not much real-world benefit to...

Government documents that will soon be made public will reveal stunning information about former U.N. ambassador Samantha Power's voluminous unmasking efforts in 2016, according to multiple sources. On Thursday, President Trump gave Attorney General William Barr the authority to declassify documents from multiple agencies related to surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016. According to investigative journalist Sara Carter on Fox News' Hannity, last night, some of the documents will reveal that FBI "informant" (spy) Stefan Halper recorded both George Papadopoulos and Carter Page, and there is exculpatory evidence on those tapes. In addition to that, according to Carter, one...

Hollywood actor Jon Voight released a two-part video via Twitter last night, heralding President Trump as "the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln," and one who is "battling the Left and their absurd words of destruction." The message was poignant and, while the claim of President Trump's actual ranking amongst presidents since the Civil War could be debated for hours, it was largely one the Republican Party and conservatives needed to hear. In short, it could serve as a call for Republicans to get out, get moving, and start knocking on doors lest we want a leftist president to win in...

President Trump on Saturday ripped into what he described as an “activist Obama appointed judge” after a federal judge blocked the administration’s plan to reallocate money to building a wall on the southern border with Mexico. “Another activist Obama appointed judge has just ruled against us on a section of the Southern Wall that is already under construction,” he said. “This is a ruling against Border Security and in favor of crime, drugs and human trafficking.” Trump went on to say that the administration is asking for “an expedited appeal.” U.S District Court Judge Haywood Gilliam’s ruling late Friday temporarily...

“We want to have protection in the Middle East, we’re going to be sending a relatively small number of troops, mostly protective,” he said. “Some very talented people are going to the Middle East right now and we’ll see what happens.”

At least three different New Jersey universities are investigating a now-viral video in which students are heard repeating a racial slur. According to BuzzFeed News, the probes were launched in recent days after Monmouth sophomore Scharina Bencosme shared the video on social media. The footage, which was captured on Snapchat, shows a group of young men and women in a circle, taking turns using the n-word.
