Democrats appeared poised to make huge gains in the Republican-controlled House of Delegates — and potentially take control of the chamber for the first time in 18 years — as strong voter turnout put a slew of GOP incumbents in danger of losing their seats. The biggest upsets occurred early in Northern Virginia, where Democrat Danica Roem became the first transgender person elected to the House of Delegates, defeating social conservative Del. Robert G. Marshall, R-Prince William, and Democrat Lee Carter shocked House Republican Whip Jackson H. Miller, R-Manassas, despite tepid support from his own party.

The key to healthy high schoolers might be where no one was looking: the bedroom! In last year's report from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), officials made it clear that teaching kids to save sex for marriage might just spare them from a long list of other health risks. Students in grades 9-12 who made positive decisions about sex were just as likely (or more!) to avoid other dangerous behaviors. That's great news for parents, who were thrilled with the government's announcement that more kids were postponing intimacy than ever before. For years, moms and dads of both parties have...

This Tokyo small business owner is at the centre of attention after his signature burger was selected to be served to the President. In amongst all the speeches and outings held during Trump’s first visit to Japan as U.S. President, the one thing that stood out for many people was the fact that during his visit to a golf course with the Japanese Prime Minister, the two chose to eat hamburgers. While some criticised the decision to shun the country’s UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage-listed traditional cuisine, others immediately started searching the Internet to find out where they could get their...

CIA Director Mike Pompeo still believes Russia was responsible for hacking the Democratic National Committee, the agency said Tuesday amid reports that Pompeo met a skeptic at President Trump’s urging. William Binney, who worked more than three decades at the National Security Agency before stepping down as technical director in 2001, met with Pompeo on Oct. 24 to discuss a July report he co-authored suggesting DNC emails were leaked, rather than hacked. “I thought it was a pretty good hourlong meeting,” Binney told the Washington Examiner.

The Houston Texans have signed free agent quarterback Josh Johnson and released Matt McGloin. The moves come a day after coach Bill O'Brien said they had discussed the possibility of adding Colin Kaepernick in the wake of a season-ending knee injury to rookie Deshaun Watson. Instead of adding Kaepernick, the former 49ers quarterback who began the protest movement by kneeling during the national anthem last season, Houston chose Johnson to be its third quarterback. The 31-year-old Johnson has been with the Giants, Bills, Colts and 49ers over the past three seasons, but hasn't appeared in a game since he played...
