A second poll from the Tar Heel state in as many days confirms that Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump is in fact leading his Democratic counterpart Hillary Rodham Clinton. This poll, from The Trafalgar Group (TFG), shows Trump up by about five percent over Clinton—specifically, a lead of 4.97 percent—outside the survey’s 2.88 percent margin of error. Trump, at 49.13 percent, leads Clinton at 44.16 percent. Libertarian Gary Johnson gets 3.59 percent and the Green Party’s Dr. Jill Stein gets 0.49 percent, while 2.63 percent are undecided. The survey was conducted from Oct. 27 through Nov. 1, with a...

Polls show narrowing race Polls show narrowing race 11 Hours Ago | 03:25 A new poll from Quinnipiac University shows a tight presidential race in battleground states, with Donald Trump appearing to gain some ground. Hillary Clinton's October momentum came "to a halt" in the QU swing state poll, according to a Wednesday afternoon release, which said the Democrat had seen her leads shrink slightly in Florida and North Carolina. Trump, meanwhile, vaulted into a 5-point lead in Ohio in the latest poll. "No one has been elected president since 1960 without carrying two of the key swing states, Florida,...

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s tours of soul food restaurants and black churches to court black voters in recent weeks doesn’t seem to be paying off. The turnout of black voters is down in many areas compared to 2012, including key battleground states, providing the latest evidence that the former first lady’s campaign may be circling the drain. The black voter turnout in the key state of North Carolina is down 16 percent in early voting. It’s a similar situation in Florida, where black voters heading to the polls in person has decreased from 25 percent in 2012 to a...

President Barack Obama delivered an impassioned plea to voters in North Carolina to vote next week and reject the candidacy of Republican nominee Donald Trump. "We won't win this election, potentially, if we don't win North Carolina," he said during a campaign rally for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. "I hate to put a little pressure on you, but the fate of the republic rests on your shoulders. The fate of the world is teetering."

Obama to Court African-Americans for Clinton Concern that key voting block is not turning out prompts president to return to the stump. President Barack Obama plans to spend the rest of this week campaigning for Hillary Clinton, aiming to generate massive turnout among fellow Democrats and especially among African-Americans whose enthusiasm for Clinton seems to be lagging. Obama campaigned for Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, in Ohio Tuesday, and he plans to stump for her in North Carolina Wednesday and Florida Thursday. All of these are important battleground states where the race between Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump is...

African-Americans are failing to vote at the robust levels they did four years ago in several states that could help decide the presidential election, creating a vexing problem for Hillary Clinton as she clings to a deteriorating lead over Donald J. Trump with Election Day just a week away. As tens of millions of Americans cast ballots in what will be the largest-ever mobilization of early voters in a presidential election, the numbers have started to point toward a slump that many Democrats feared might materialize without the nation’s first black president on the ticket. The reasons for the decline...

The Trump campaign appears to be riding high and operating optimistically headed into the final week of the presidential campaign. The clearest sign of that comes in the form of a $25 million ad buy that includes new spots in Pennsylvania, Michigan and New Mexico, all of which are classified as leaning Democratic in the current ABC News state ratings. The only of those three states that has recent reputable polling is Pennsylvania, the latest of which has Clinton leading by six points in the Oct. 16 Quinnipiac survey. Michigan hasn't voted Republican since 1988 and New Mexico has only...

A new WRAL/SurveyUSA poll shows that Donald Trump is now leading North Carolina by seven points ahead of Hillary Clinton — 51 percent to Clinton’s 44 percent. That means that Trump has shockingly flipped his numbers in the state in just one month. Three weeks ago, Clinton was leading Trump by two points in the same poll – 46 percent to 44 percent. Trump has now passed the 50 percent threshold, according to the poll, making it unlikely that Clinton will be able to bounce back. The poll was conducted after the news that the FBI would revisit the investigation...

The information displays Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine’s events, but anyone representing Hillary for America, including Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, and other politicians and celebrities appearing on the behalf of HFA.<< [snip] It looks like the electorate is being played by the media in coordination with the Clinton campaign. Democratic candidate Tim Benton cold-cocked Republican Brenden Jones at the annual Beast Fest in North Carolina. . . . “Mr. Benton kept nudging him with his shoulder the whole time they were walking across, and then he just stepped back and little and coldcocked him,” he said. “To beat all, he (Benton) left a little child in a stroller to walk across the street, and if Mr. Jones’ (companion) hadn’t caught her, the child would have rolled into the street,” Hester added.

With over 216,000 absentee ballots added on Halloween, North Carolina's absentee ballot pool is getting closer to two million ballots, with 95 percent of those having been accepted as votes for the November 8 general election, now a week away (and everyone say AMEN). The total absentee ballots, by party registration and method of voting, stands at 1,970,525 This represents a nearly 8 percent increase from the same day in 2012. In terms of party registration within the voting methods (both mail-in and in-person), the total ballots breaks down to 43 percent from registered Democrats, 31 percent from registered Republicans,...

Nationally, “African-American enthusiasm has dipped compared with that in 2012,” according to the New York Times. That’s “a surprising and disquieting development for Democrats who believed Trump’s racial appeals and flirtations with the birther movement would generate more urgency,” the Times reported. For example, in the two Virginia districts with the largest percentage of African American adults, early voting has dropped by more than 50 percent, the Times said. In Ohio, the decline of early voting in heavily Democratic African-American districts is causing worry for Democrats — and a shift of resources into the low-turnout areas. Hillary Clinton, according to...
