Fabio Fognini has been kicked out of the US Open after verbally abusing a female umpire during his first round singles match. The Italian was due to play in the third round of the doubles but he has been withdrawn from that contest and provisionally suspended from competition. Fognini had already been handed a series of fines totalling £18,500 after he lost his temper during a loss to fellow countryman Stefano Travaglia. The 30-year-old was heard using insulting language towards Swedish official Louise Engzell and was handed three separate fines – the largest sanction coming to a whopping £11,581. And...

As far as ABC’s Cokie Roberts is concerned, Donald Trump attacking Hillary Clinton as “unhinged” is basically a gendered attack. Trump has recently taken to calling Clinton “unhinged” and “unbalanced,” implying she’s “not all there.” On ABC’s This Week this morning, Sara Fagen said that’s not the issue people have with Clinton, so that won’t be a particularly helpful line of attack. Then Roberts said, “‘Unhinged’ and ‘she doesn’t look presidential’ is totally code for ‘we shouldn’t elect a woman.’ That’s exactly what that is.”
