Who knew that newbie Democrat congressman Jason Altmire (4th District) and Republican congressman Tim Murphy (18th District) would ever "town hall" together? The reason there are no answers is because there were none to be found. Today Murphy and Altmire sent out a news release announcing that they would host two joint town hall meetings together:

WASHINGTON (CNS) -- Bishop William F. Murphy of Rockville Centre, N.Y., has ordered an end to weekday Communion services outside the context of Mass by July 1. Citing guidelines for the distribution of Communion in the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, Bishop Murphy said in a May 9 pastoral letter that his decision would bring the diocese "into conformity with the liturgical norms of the church." The order applies to parishes, schools and social and charitable organizations which had adopted the practice of offering "celebrations of the word" with the distribution of Communion when no daily Mass was scheduled....

Why Al-Arian Walked By Debbie SchlusselFrontPageMagazine.com | December 9, 2005My friend, Michael Eisenstadt, dedicated his life, among other things, to seeing terrorist leader Sami Al-Arian face justice. In September, Mike, spokesman for Tampa's Jewish community, died of lung cancer. While his passing is a source of great sadness, I'm glad Mike didn't get to see Al-Arian's acquittal, Tuesday. It was a sad day in America, but not one that was unexpected. At least by me. Everyone predicted that the jury would throw the book at the man who was a founder of terrorist group Islamic Jihad, and ran its worldwide...

I would like to give you a report on your armed forces and what they are doing today. And I want to start by referring back to Lt. Michael Murphy. I'm so proud to be in the Navy that produced Michael Murphy. I'm proud to stand here and know that a Navy SEAL was awarded the Medal of Honor, and I want to talk about his generation. The report I would like to give you is about the generation that Michael Murphy represents - and it is what I will term the millennial generation. They came of age, in a...

Since I've been following the trail of the Chahine Hezbollah organized crime family for years, I've learned a lot more about Hezbollah spy and FBI/CIA Agent Nada Nadim Prouty. Don't forget that she and her sister Elfat El-Aouar Chahine are not the only members of their family to defraud the federal government in immigration, tax, and Hezbollah related matters. Another sister, an OB-GYN, Rula Nadim Al Aouar (different spelling to confuse/evade U.S. authorities--a common Muslim and Arab practice), also engaged in a sham marriage and immigration fraud.

From the moment he read "Gates of Fire" until a fanatic's bullet slammed into his back, "Murph" lived the life. The book told the story of the battle of Thermopylae - about how a force of 300 Spartans was slaughtered for standing against 200,000 invading Persians. _______snip________ In that moment, under three dazzling chandeliers in the East Room of the White House, I suddenly wished that the beautiful ceremony had been held in the Los Angeles Coliseum. Not to make a spectacle, but just so every one of those Hollywood bums who spew out idiocy to demoralize our troops could...

I just finished listening to the Audiobook of "Lone Survivor" by Marcus Luttrell. It is one of the most amazing stories about survival I have ever read, but in my opinion, what is even more compelling about the book are the trials of honor and morality. This is a story that America should be aware of, and very few people are, even though the leader of this team LT Murphy was recently awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions, and the other three members of the team were awarded the Navy Cross, two posthumously. This is an awful moral...

Last week, I took my favorite train to one of my favorite parts of the city, Main Street, Flushing, and a world unto itself. After soaking up some of the exuberant street life, I hopped a bus to Whitestone, Queens, and a cozy house on a tree-lined thoroughfare of clipped hedges and tidy lawns. This is a tranquil neighborhood. There’s a seminary up the road. It’s the perfect outpost for someone who’s helped restore your faith in humanity. He was already a legend when I met him at the Irish Echo, 24 years ago. They said his generosity was incomparable,...

Cindy Sheehan, Tom Hayden, and the Hate America Left meet with pro-Ba'athist members of the Iraqi parliament to discuss “peace.” TO FIND PEOPLE WHO HATE AMERICA AS MUCH AS THEY DO, the Fifth Column Left had to go halfway around the world to meet with Iraqi political leaders who call terrorism “honorable national resistance” and say foreign jihadists “are guaranteed Paradise” – and at least one of whom has ties to militia leader Muqtada al-Sadr. By the end of the trip, the American leftists would echo these sentiments. Somehow most of the media – occupied with interminable coverage of Hurricane...

WASHINGTON - A new book offers chilling details about the valor and sacrifice of a Long Island Navy SEAL - but it could also hurt his chances for the Medal of Honor. Lt. Michael Murphy of Patchogue died leading three other frogmen on a secret Afghan recon mission on June 28, 2005. One of them, Marcus Luttrell, writes in "Lone Survivor" that the team was surprised by three Pashtun tribesmen, including a young boy, herding goats. Luttrell made the shocking claim that Murphy took a vote on whether to kill them to stay covert. One SEAL abstained. One said they...

Thu, May/24/2007 Like nearly every House Democrat this week, Bucks County Congressman Patrick Murphy, D-8, rejected a Republican move to reprimand senior Pennsylvania Congressman John Murtha, D-12, for allegedly threatening a Republican who wanted to eliminate a Murtha earmark. Wednesday, some Republicans said Murphy's steadfast support of Murtha has betrayed his promise for ethics reform on Capitol Hill. “Patrick Murphy has aligned himself with an ethically challenged congressman,” said Ken Spain, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee. “After claiming on the campaign trail to be a reformer of the system, he's cast an unconscionable vote to give John...

At a gathering in my district a few months ago, a discussion of the war in Iraq came up, as it often does. One man said in frustration that the Sunnis and Shiites had been at war for centuries, and it seemed impossible to stop it. Another person identified himself as a Muslim and said, "I will explain to you why Sunni and Shiites have fought for hundreds of years, but then please explain to me why Catholics and Protestants in Ireland have been killing each other for hundreds of years." He had a point. Catholic-Protestant battles in Ireland have...

The actions taken by Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy, have placed him in consideration, posthumously, for the Congressional Medal of Honor -- the United States' highest military award. On a June afternoon in 2005, Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy lay in hiding on the side of a ridge in the lawless eastern mountains of Afghanistan. He carried little with him in the thin alpine air near Pakistan's border. A rifle. Clips of ammunition. Sophisticated communications and surveillance equipment. Some high-energy food. There were three U.S. commandos hiding with him on that mountain, all, like him, members of one...

Recently, American F-22 fighters were sent, for the first time, across the Pacific, to Japan, for a training exercise. This would be the first time the aircraft would cross the International Date line, where it is tomorrow, and the aircraft's GPS and navigation software would handle the date change. There were problems. All off a sudden the software that ran the navigation and communications systems wasn't working too well. Being in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, this was a problem. Some of the pilots were able to reboot their software and make the problem go away, but this did...

WASHINGTON - With cameras flashing and reporters verbally skirmishing for question time, freshman Rep. Patrick J. Murphy smiled from the lectern at yesterday's packed news conference. Life is good these days when you stand next to Sen. Barack Obama. Murphy (D., Pa.) and Obama (D., Ill.) appeared together to discuss legislation they had just introduced in the House and Senate to stop the escalation in forces being sent to Iraq and to redeploy U.S. troops out of that country beginning May 1. Introduction of "the Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007" comes as senators seek a compromise to start debate,...
