A suspect was apprehended just before 11:30 a.m. on Thursday on the Starkville campus of Mississippi State University after the school's student association reported an active shooter situation. During the incident, the organization advised students to "please get to a safe location and do not move." The suspect has not been identified and the motive is not known. The Brandon High School Band did not perform at halftime during the season-opening game Friday night. A statement from the Rankin County School District says a July federal court order is the reason the band was banned from Friday night's halftime show. DEVELOPING: A man was reportedly detained Wednesday by law enforcement officers investigating reports of shots fired on consecutive days at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center in Mississippi.
